it looks better, but still kinda akward with the identicall circular cutaways at the bottom, maybe for some influence look at some batman planes from the movies they usually look quite nice. im thinking yu should elaborate on the first shape, though, it could be made to look quite nice,

the first headstock was ok, and much better then the second one.

oh and a cad drawing to be used for your guitar should take some time, i put in a good 6 or 7 hours into the drawing for my upcoming bass project.

i thik the body shape looks a bit award, it looks like somebody had an sg and took a few bites out of it . if thats what you want then go for it, but IMO it looks akward, id think about making the shape flow a bit more. also, the 2 curves. (waist curves) seem too elangated. I think that if you want to use this kind of shape, symetry is not your friend.

is it posible to solder on to chrome though?!

to test if it conducts just take a multimeter and put it on the ohm setting and touch the two wires to the chrome, if it shows a reading then your fine, if you diont want to solder (or it wont), you could always sandwich the wire between the bridge and the wood.

im not sure if chrome is a material that is bad to solder too, i know alluminum is though. just dont forget to use some solder flux

Go over each fret with #0 steel wool. Your frets will shine after this step. If you want you can take it up to #00 but any higher will dull them again.

a triangle file will work but its more complicated, but many builders swear by it.

I myself got one of those stewmac files (except mine was from lmii same thing though) and its pretty nice, and it comes with 3 different size files (that are interchangable) for different fret size, and it makes it easier and faster to file frets, and a lot less chance of damaging your fretboard. if you want to use a triangular file, you chould have a file with the edges not abrasive, so that you dont damage your finger board when filing close the the fb.

well defenitally refilling and drilling, melting is an uncontralable element and it will doubtfully work good. and another option is the glue the crakc or break (or whatever happened.

if its a strat type trem (floyd rose also), you usualy solder a wire to the spring claw (theres sometimes a little tab for it), if its hardtail youll need to drill a hole from under the bridge (in the wood), to the control cavity and solder a wire directly to the bridge (or post, or screw, it all depends). then just solder it to your ground wire collection point

it depends on if you have a neck angle or not. If you have a adequate neck angle to keep the strings parallel to the neck , then routing the top to recces the trem isnt neccesarry, however if it is not made with a neck angle, reccesing the floyd is another options to keep the strings parallel to the body. though both have their seperate pros and cons (not only relating to if the strings are parrallel), that I, since i dont use a floyd, am not enlightened enough to elaborate, however there are many, more enlightened people on this forum that could elaborate more

zebrawood is very prone to splitting, it doesnt seem it will split along the grain, but it surprises you, i was using some for clamping cauls and just some moderate tension just snapped it in half.

its the best all around guitar making book, its over 200 pages. and its not just a how to build a strat. first he goes over all the aspects of building guitars, frfom design, to wood selection, to fretting (and a lot more) and most importantly safety. then he shows the procces of building a bolt on strat shaped guitar from scratch to finish with explanations on every part of the procces. followed by a start to finish section which shows the building of a set necked tele shaped guitar, and finally he shows (and explains), the building of a neckthrough 8 string bass. followed by a chapter on finishing (its quite brief but it does explain a lot about the different types of finishes). and then a chapter/ on electronics and wiring and explains how pickups work followed by a chapter on setting up a guitar and a chapter on tremelos. and then an apendix with some correct drawing for making pickup and tremelo routes. and an apendix with common sclae measurments, and an apendix with a list of guitar part suppliers and finally an apendix with some correct drawing for making pickup and tremelo routes

i beleive the saga prs kits have clip on wiring (no soldering), so if you want your own pickups you have to fool around with them, but maybe replacing everything is a good way to go,

stew mac prices are generally ok to expensive for single items, but if you buy in bulk like for a guitar shop, they get much cheaper and suddenly the best prices around, but it only matters for people opening a guitar shop as they're bulk are for quantities used in 3 guitars.

also stewmac switched to dhl/usps, damn it gets to me fast, and i live on the westcoast, no problems there, but same with lmi, since it takes about a day to get to me.
