  1. seriously man i didnt say anything to you. so dont get smart ass with me. this thread was locked and thats when i started the other one, which was locked, and now is erased. and my thread in 'in progress....' section was locked for about 2 days. and i pm'ed brian with my concerns and now it is un-locked. so before mouthing off and trying to look witty about something your not up to date on please dont be not cool like that. and i believe all of these post should be erased. to bad we can just have a cool thread filled with cool pics of guitars. sad its spawned into this.
  2. funny you say that cause my thread in "in progress worked" just got LOCKED due to pictures. and im pretty sure they were on MY server i pay for. hmmmmm
  3. kevan,,, allright hard-a$$. let me just sum it up like this. im a member of several large forums. how large you ask? steam gaming forums, ls2.com, ect. ls2.com is #300 (off the top of my head) on the biggest list of UBB forums in the WORLD. they have over 2million+ post. and does anyone get BS over there about posting pictures? well.....NOPE. so it seems a little silly that around here, with the 10 regular members, that we are getting complained at for posting pics. seriously now. you guys are letting something like these new rules run alot of people off, and stirring up un-needed controversy over something so miniscule. just let people post their damn pictures. if they dont like scrolling down through a couple of them then they need to pop a couple more pills from their ADD perscription. lovekraft- i respect your opinion.....but when i used to be on 56k i wouldnt dream about going to a forum like this if i was in a hurry for load time. but if you want ultra-fast loading then there is always USEnet message boards. you know, the ones where you cant post pics. its called "the price you have to pay". i shouldnt be driving a Yugo around on the interstate and be yelling at people "slow down, my car can only go so fast". thats silly. take the back road (AKA dont complain when you jump in a huge thread that has pics on it) not that big of a deal. no need to raise a fuss over.
  4. due to the fact that litch, sorry, i mean wes just locked the topic for no reason, sent a very un-nice reply to my pm, then decided to block me from any other pm's. ill re=start this topic so people can check out some nice guitars. remember, if your on 56k then your an idiot for coming into a thread that could possibly have......MY GOD!..... PICTURES! in it. so for people that dont mind waiting .3 seconds here are some nice guitars: enjoy!
  5. no, the dumbest thing ive heard all day is a rule that caters to .1% of all internet users. im sorry, but broadband has been in circulation for the last few YEARS. if you dont have it, then YOU are the minority and should bow down to people that pay for good internet. so if your still running 56k and 640x480 then you aren't to bright. and the rules of the whole forums worldwide shouldnt cater around 10 or so people of the hundreds. and your an idiot if you came in here and didnt expect pictures, i mean, seriously look at the topic of this thread. oh wow there are large pictures in here? damn that really takes up all my screen, i better make a rule so that everyone has to do what i want to see. BS. thats just stupid. i came to this thread to see pictures, not see a bunch of frickin links. if everyone posted links it would take about 200x as long to click thru and open a new window on each. just a waste of everyones time. so. i say post all the pics you can. and the people that are living like it was 15 yrs ago can EAT IT. bla bla bla...you are acting like a child and being foolish.you sound just like every preteen on the net right now by the way ,einstein, just so you know there are places where broadband is not available(it only became available where i live about 2 years ago) and if you are too lazy to click on a link,i feel sorry for you acting like a child? how? i just posted some facts that you cant deny are true. and your response shows your lack of reasoning and lack of knowledge on the subject matter. dont blame me if your computer sucks. now watch as i post some huge pics.

  7. word of advice... the bigger the roundover the go, the price astronomically increases. i was looking for a 1-1/4" roundover to save myself some work on raidusing the neck. a good bit is about 130$. and anything over 5/8" is usually in 1/2" shank which means a large router. dont know if that helps but keep it in mind
  8. whats wrong with hotlinking? it doesnt use our bandwidth, and if its illegal then the people should learn how to not leave directories open.
  9. make that a hardtail or take off the trem and that thing would look killer. body lines are so sexy
  10. look for the user 'clavin' in the inlay forums. might want to PM him
  11. dizam, i hate Valve. but that was pretty funny. especially when it was in red. .....INSTEAD OF MAKING A NEW THREAD. haha
  12. i really wish they would. to me they are very un-classy, stereotypical, and not very artistically created. MEHHHH. good god. i just had a seizure.
  13. ive seen tons of people sand it to the wood. or you could just rough it up with some 600 grit sand paper so its got a nice matte finish to it
  14. no way! you got proE!!!? man i tried getting that for a solid year. found one but the crack was whack. i just got MasterCAM, the cnc program that turns .dxf files and the like into g-code and paths. dont know how to work it though, but it cost an insane amount
  15. theres also this thing called the internet, the internet has programs where you can download other programs. pretty neat huh. and then other sites have these wierd arrangement of letters and numbers that when you put them into the program it magically makes it yours. imagine that. now, i dont know where one would find this kind of stuff, nor am i supporting it. but think about that while im using my SolidWorks 2004 wich is over 5k.
  16. wait. let me check out that link..... oh my.....
  17. i think lemon oil might be a good choice for fretboard. i dont know if you can leave rosewood unfinished or not. about the pic, youll have to find somewhere to host it first. then just click on the button when you reply and paste the link in.
  18. do a search in google for 'turboCAD'. i think its free and it has alot more power than any of those you listed.
  19. as of my knowledge, no difference at all. as long as they touch the saddle in the right spot. then thats where the scale length ends, and they can go which ever way after that. its all aesthetic
  20. i like trains too. all the cad drawings ive seen so far have been for the more popular models per se. ex-lp, strat, ect. i dont know that particular model, but id try www.guitarbuild.com and see if they have anything.
  21. dont quote me on this, but i could have sworn somewhere i saw a guy that made custom pickguards and said it was ok to use any metal there because it was far enough away. id wait for a second opion though.
  22. need a mine for the raw materials. lol that post is comical right there.
  23. well, if you dont have the tools/have access to them then the price can sneak up on your VERY quickly. having to buy tools is expensive, even if you went the route of hand plane over planer your still looking at 100$ for a good hand plane. and hand router over a router table setup is about 75$ rather than 200$. so even if you buy cheap tools its still alot. if you pay someone to do it, its expensive too. i just got some boards joined cause i didnt have a joiner. it took him 2 hrs. so thats about 80$US. JUST for the bookmatch top and back joined up. i think you should think if you want to actually build one cause you would like making it and it intrest you, or if you just want a cheaper kick around guitar. cause your first one isnt going to be be cheap, by far. and ibanez can stamp those things out way faster and cheaper than you can even dream about doing. now, on to your question. if you still want to make one. when you say acoustic-ish sound, first thing comes to mind is a hollowbody like a prs. id steal the hollowbody prs carvetop plans, but just make it chambered rather than a hollowbody. thus saving you extreme amouts of work/stress. then slap a hidden piezo system on it, so it will have some real nice mellow tones to it, but not be all jazzy sounding. id also go with a softer back, like mahogany or black limba, and depends on what kind of finish you want to put on it, but im a sucker for redwood even if its not the best tonal wood. i think that would be pretty cool result.
  24. copper is very cheep in sheet form, but its hard to cast it or pour it in ingots, so a 1.5"x12" square rod cost more than titanium. which led me to believe cost was the problem for milling it. what do you mean by it doesnt cure well?
