Here is my new build, it has been over a year since started.

Everything is done by hand....i had to make the forms ,too. Some tools had to be made also.I will try to answer all questions,

Good for you, having someone of his caliber playing your guitar ,has to feel good.

A angle in the neck ,makes tuning less turns and seems to stiffen the neck a little. I have played both styles ,I like them both.As one being better ,that is up to the player.

Lam. Is short for laminate , a very thin wood.

Cloth , like a tee shirt ,or material .

You probably can mount the picture on the body as is ,if the top is in good shape....and clear it . You really need to practice on some scrap first .You don't want the picture to wrinkle ,and this takes practice.

If you have a hard time with a photo, you can transfer a photo to cloth and mount it that way.

You can do this....you will have to apply the photo and then seal .Take a junk piece of wood and a throw away pic and test your process.Just know applying a full body top pic will be hard. You will need to treat the photo like a piece of lam. ,curves and cut outs have to be factored in. It can be done , just not as simple as it sounds.

So now you want to cut their heads off? Hahahaha

Just thought I would throw this out there.I know someone would like to be the winner ,but could this month ,all of them be winners.I truly believe they are all winners.Some appeal to use more then others, but build wise they are all tops.

This month ,they are all GOTM .This is one of the best batches I have seen in along time.I don't usually remark on GOTM .

Anyway ,I voted for Metal tele.....classic 54 was second for me.

The reason I voted for Metal is: the whole theme was just great,and classy.Of coarse it would be one I would love to own.

I just can't convay my thoughts into words ,thus why I don't respond to these very often.The guitar deserves more than I have said.

This is just a great bunch of guitars,bass,and acoustics.....love them all.

If I read your question right, yes you can have ele pups on a acoustic.....but ,most acoustics use pups designed for them.

The only thing I can see that needs tweaking is ,in the picture of you using the chisel ,you mite not be holding your tongue just right.hahaha this is a very nice build.

Scott,those gouge marks are birth marks,I kinda like them.

Scotttt..ta,looking sweet, less is more ,it will look flat and pale ,till you hit it with clear.I am liking it.hahaha

You can incorporate the pick guard into the paint sceam , but looking forward to your build.

You can use cans ,both for paint and clear.There are threads already pined in here I think that go over this.I believe auto paint stores are where they get the supplies,so that should be right up your ally.The trick is to get the right maker of paint and clear,for best use.Good luck to ya.

O.K. My reason for this question is that I am very hesitant to drill holes in a very expensive guitar just so I can have a whammy bar. I am partial to Bigsby's but don't want to put up with the inherent detuning effects of dive bombing all over the universe. Maybe my next idea might work. Until next time..........

You can have a Bigsby with out locking nuts and not have tuning problems .If you do need to lock the strings ,they make locking tuners.I have a strat with a Bigsby on it and it holds tune just fine.

Not sure what you are tring to do ,but if you want to attach something to a string ,do it behind the nut or behind the bridge.Like some of the old stile pick ups, or people attaching stuff to the head or tail of the guitar.Feathers or chains or using the string for a cig. Holder kinda thing.

I made a template of the f hole out of tracing paper , poked holes in the paper at key places, then placed the paper on the top ,making pencile marks thru the holes on to the top.Then I used a dremal with a small sanding drum on it to cut thru the top.Just take your time with it.Some times I go to YouTube and look at a video or two and get ideas ,too

I did mine after the carve.I assume you are doing the standard f hole. Make sure you line the f hole up with the bridge in mind.The center line of th bridge should line up with the center of the f hole.You also want the f hole edges cut perpendicular to the top plate.

That tele threw me off at first, the strat pic guard did it to me.I like it,the walnut is looking good..At first I thought it was a base,then took a closer look.
