  1. On the fretboard I drill a small hole thru the first fret at it's center and at the ninth fret.Drill a little into the neck,so the pins lock the two together. As for the body ,leave a little extra wood above the neck pocket and the bottom of the wood ,at center .Drill thru ,like the fret board and pin when gluing. You will not have to force anything ,the pins lock it in place.Others may have better or other ways og doing this,so hope this one helps.

  2. Welcome to the land of the free.It has become ,in all things,if you go against the grain, the people in charge will pick and choose laws ,and charges as they see fit.In this country now ,the fed and state cherry pick laws and who to use them on.funny how they can ignore all kinds of stuff and cry so loud at the ones they don't like.People in charge just want sheep, they are scared of people that can think for themselves ,and if you disagree with them ,oh hell duck.

I was thinking the other day, the second admenment give us the right to bare guns, period. When I was a kid and it was hunting season ,all the cars and trucks at school had guns in them. They would not get stolen ,and their was never any trouble. We as a people should be able to carry a gun with us anywhere ,at anytime.

We have to many laws ,that they can not enforce as it is ,let's make more so if they need them for a few we have them.

  3. small fridge for beer

I just picked up one of those that still was unused and had the original tape holding the racks in for shipping.$50

i never seem to get good deals on power tools.Around here everyone hangs on to them it seems.I do have many clamps the same as those large black ones pictured above. They were 3/$10 at Harbor freight. They have worked great for years.

Being from Texas myself, I know what you are saying.Lucky I live in Calie now....people buy them out here ,can't use them and want to get rid of them.hahahaMy neighbor bought me the fridge so he did not have to go into his guarge to fetch a beer.

  4. The music industry and instruments are not what most people think.A lot of the reasons have be addressed, having said that ,I have been going to winter NAMM for over twenty years.I have seen all shapes and styles. All kinds of new and improve ideas.I have also heard some of the dumbest stuff said ,when someone has already made up their mind on a piece of equipment.Only to have a known guitar player come up and make it sing. Most really good players can make any playable guitar sound like one of the best. It's in the hands ,says ( put guitar hero's name here ) .I have seen some of the best guitar players just rip on a guitar that looks really beat up,holes, built up bodies to take the abuse, road rash, etc.Just build what you want ,it will work or it won't.Selling guitars is more about pleasing the buying public, not what you think it should be,period.

  5. Nice, I like to see someone get really good deals. My neighbor got two ele. Guitars for free the other day.I wanted to mug him.hahaha One was a SKL and one was a explorer.I have been getting some stuff for free ,too.My other neighbor gave me ,air staple gun,sander,jigsaw,plain,100 piece drill bit set, sandpaper, small fridge for beer, air disc sander ,pro dremal, small air compressor and some other odds and ends.A friend is giving me some 1200 Sandpaper .He got me a three foot piece of 3" PVC / w end cap and threaded end cap,for soaking sides for bending.

  6. Not to be picky, but you asked if it would work, not what was best.A really good bandsaw would be best, and I wish I had one, too.hahaha I read your question ,as ,the saw would be for her and if you would be able to use it to.Anyway ,hope you get both...just do your homework before buying.I have bought stuff that did not do what I expected, because I did not do my homework.

  7. The pins should set in all the way.The string should bite with the pin all the way in.from what you described ,sounds like the guitar set for a while, and got dry.Making the wood shrink. You might try humidity to add moisture to the guitar, then recheck the pins and holes.Other then that, the pin holes just might need to be ream out.

  8. OCD,much....hahaha. Guitars are some what Not a exact science.Wood is a living thing and is very complex. That is why top handmade guitars go for so much money.I venture to say ,no two guitars are alike. While cnc is very precise, wood has a life of it's own.Having said that ,as close as you can get comes to mind.I wish you the best of luck in your building ,I am sure you will learn a lot and have fun along the way.
