  1. Less voltage to the motor will make it slower. You just need a pot over it really.

Mind you often with electric motors they are designed to give suitable torque for the application in question at a particular RPM.

The mechanical alternative of course is gearing :-)

  2. Wes man speak da truth :D

Absana, a good way to develop your "own style" is to perhaps concentrate less attempting to "sound" like someone else and spend time learning techniques rather than tracks.

Also getting a couple of lessons from a professional tutor can always help point you in a different or better aimed direction.

  3. If anything I am seeing more and more people wanting to learn to play recently.

Teaching contemporary instruments is something a good drummer friend of mine is very passionate about, so much so that he started a UK wide network of guitar, bass, keyboard and drum tutors (http://www.gigajam.com if your interested).

He seems to be doing well for himself with his lesson content being sold into primary and secondary schools as well as a growing network of personal tutors.

I think basically guitar based music will always excite children, it's very hands on and has much less of a stigma attached to it that traditional classical instruments and music.

You only need see some of these kids partaking in the Gigajam demonstations I've seen to know that the guitar etc ain't becoming a thing of the past, by no means! :D

I read that and thought, "Blimey 7 years is a long time to be in the industry!", then I stopped and thought damn, that's exactly how long I've been doing it as well, bloody hell time flys!

Now I'm sure my web programming would be up to hyunsu's standards, but I wish my guitar making skills came close. But they don't I'm **** and H rocks!
