  1. Jory, the ariline is kind of at a standstill right now. I have a tele project that I want to finish first. I started it first. I found myself buying parts for so many projects that I wanted to do that I was neglecting the things that I actually needed to build the damn things, tools. So, I am currently refraining from buying parts to finish the airline in order to uotfit myself with some tools. Any pics of youre work so far?

no, and i can't get started this weekend, going to calgary. but i did recieve my neck. ill pot picks of my neck, tail piece, pickups and template when i get home hopefully. the neck is so killer. it has the airline fell but yet is different, im hoping it will distiguish my airline from the "jack white guitar".

  2. k so many of you know about the eastwood airline re-issue, wel atlest jay and i know as we are building our own re-issues. but how many of you know of the Fujigen airline, its made by a japenesse company and if acctually seen it in a guitar shop in vancouver (off granville), unlike the eastwood which is order only. well here some pics to inspire you jay and other who care.

  3. haha very well i shall use correct spelling, and to my best effort, grammar. I have already been scolded for punctuation, what is up with you guys :D give a man a break! yea sorry wes if i offended you i meant that what you suggested was not what i was looking for, i over reacted and i am sorry

  4. Many kinds of guitars have the jack in the front, like the SG´s and some hollowbodies like the ES335. I think you´ll need a 5/32" or 4mm depth in that area so you can screw the jack directly to the body. Also I assume you´re not using a pickguard, right?

    u assume correctly

oh and wes your wrong i meant like an sg not a strat but thanks anyways

  5. yea the eastwoods were made in korea, south id imagine :D, but yea they're good gutiars but i would never pay $700 fro the airline reissue when the original fiberglass one is only $300 more (not that they're worth 1000). i remember the good ole days, last summer when those guitars were going for like $400 (almost got one!) but the reissues won't sound anything like the original (diff pickups, pots etc.) if you have any questions you should really e-mail mike robinson, his e-mails on the myrareguitars.com site, he'll most likely respond within 5 mins (hes always online as his buisness relies on it)

  6. I havent figured out the binding issue. I really dont know how to rout a rabbit around the body. I havent done the math to see what size bearing i would need to get the right depth. Im still working on a tele project. I dont want to get too ahead of myself. Im reworking my headstock template right now.

yea thats a hard part eh? i was lucky enough to find a neck that about the same only problem is ill have to refinish it and put the white veneer on the head stock, (it has black on it now)

  7. hey no i havn't started on the body, well besides the template, caus im waiting for my neck to arrive and my taipiece so i can get scale and all that, o and i got the tailpiece from ebay, i can give you the guys user name if you want apparently he has tons, he said he would just sell me one if i didn't win the bid (i did tho), i got mine for $20.00 which is an excellent price for such a unique and critical item, oh have you solved the binding problem yet? :D

  8. yes i am, i think its essential to the guitar, if you look at the www.myrareguitars.com airline re-issue, its lacking because it doesn't have that binding, its just addes to the contrast, or maybe im messed up lol. ideas have been: - going to Canadian Tire (hardware store in canada) and getting some vinyl binding used for flooring its perfect only problem is it doesn't come in white! so any one know how to colour vinyl? Or putting in regulay binding all around the body only twice as thick, so it would use two pieces or the material, have i lost you? but i am still searching, question to you Jay: what colour? the classic red and white (what im doin) or something else
