I don't know I live about an hour and a half from there so if I went there it would be for
buying masses and masses of wood (gas is so friggin expensive)
why don't you call them and they might check and make you only pay shipping
what do you have to lose
P.S. notice I didn't use any smilies
P.S.S. nevermind

how many bpf is needed for an electric guitar body while buying lumber
how many:
for a carved top
for a threepeice laminate neck-through neck
-
basswood is a good wood for a body
but
It may not be the best for a neck because of how soft it is
The neck would have a tendency to bend
of couse, because it is softer, it is easier to work with
It is cheaper because it is one of the softest hardwoods
read a book on woods your local library should have one
I bought a book full of hardwoods that says their woodworking qualities
hardness, price, toxity, power tools or hand saws, porous or non porous, stability
these are all things to pay attention to when buying wood for making a guitar
-
I would buy one, the book has sections on how to build 3 different guitars
a carved top guitar which came in handy to me 'cause i plan on having a carved top
plus
There is a section on how to build a neck-through guitar which was some info I couldn't find anywhere else because I plan to build a neck-through guitar and was having trouble finding info
I would also suggest while your at the bookstore pick-up (no pun intended) Larry Robinson's book "The Art Of Inlay"
I bought both of them on Amazon just recently for a little over 30 bucks
Amazon's a great dealer I ordered free shipping because I spent over 20.00
so the package was supposed to come in 7-8 days and I got mine in 3 days
peace out
-
k thanx what are active pickups
-
litchfield I'll see u in the slam topic
-
I need a good wiring system
I am using Seymour Duncan JB for a bridge pickup and Seymour Duncan Full Shred for the neck pickup
I want a quiet guitar with no humming
I think I want lots of sustain ?
would these Schematics work for a balanced sound not too bright more on the warm side
pleez

k thanks

does it sand flat good
-
Hey has anyone used the Craftsman 3-D sander
I thought it looked like a nifty tool for sanding the back of the neck
Plus it can sand flat surfaces too so I'm thinking of buying it to replace my junky palm sander
The only problem with it that I see is you would have to buy lots of the special sand paper
QVC has some cheap craftsman tools

yo Alex
how has the tru oil been
is it getting scratches in it already?
and about your low action
try filing your nut even lower
but don't file too low or it will break your nut
just keep researching you'll find something real good real soon if you persist
