I wasn't able to locate any threads related to this, but I was wondering if gluing several ten inch pieces together would be structurally sound on a neck-through build.
The neck would look something like this

Half of me thinks that glue is stronger than wood so it wouldn't detract from stability but the other half of me says it will be weaker. Thoughts?

Finished this a few weeks ago. It plays and sounds amazing, reminds me of a pedulla. Its surprisingly light at only 1.5in thick. I guess it is time to start another!

Ive recently installed active pickups in my bass. The signal is very weak when I play the bass. If I lay it flat, the signal becomes strong. If I move the bass from flat to playing position (on its side) it cuts back out again. When I look at the cavity and move the bass, I dont see anything moving. Im guessing there's a weak connection somewhere. Any way of diagnosing it? thanks

I just installed the active electronics in my bass and after plugging it in, my volume control stays at one volume level. At 0 position, there is no volume but when I go to position 1, its quite loud and is the same volume to position 9. At position 10, it cuts off. I used Carvin 501B module and Carvin soap bar humbuckers. Also, the mid control does not seem to be working but I have read elsewhere that this particular model is known to need adjusting in regards to the mid. Otherwise it sounds amazing. Thanks Guys.

I dont have any wiggle room with this. Before I fill and redrill, some things ive been thinking about. Shaving the posts. Stringing one string high and one string low. Creating some sort of wax/plastic/rubber 'buffer' that actually rests between the strings where they would contact, using flatwound strings. The posts are 7/16'' and I have not looked to see if I can find thinner ones yet. Although it may not be too difficult to cover a dowel piece in matching maple and a thin line of purpleheart to match the holes then redrill. I had the holes positioned right on the initial conception but deviated when I decided to flare the tuning pegs so the top pegs would angle up and the bottom pegs would angle down. Changing plans midway will have unintended consequences....who would have thought?! Let me know what you guy think. Thanks ya'll.
