thank you for the quick reply. how do you like your mustang?? actually i need all measurements. i want to do the blank first though, so i needed the thickness first. do you know if the cyclone has the same body contours???

mustangs are great guitars if your hands aren't massive.

what specific measurements do you need? i suppose you'd need neck pocket measurements, and also for the body cavities. do you have templates?

not sure if cyclone has similar dimensions. to me they look a bit different.

helge, pulled out my '66 mustang, and it's exactly one and a half inches, inclusive of finish.

trem is indeed a funny mount and it doesn't go all the way through. if you need any other dimensions that don't require taking the guitar apart much, just ask.

the wood hyunsu has... like the piece those 4 necks are leaning on in his first post, and those in the last pic he posted... it's great to see it all being used so well. i like how he's experimenting with all sorts of shapes and techniques.

hyunsu, you're real dedicated, not only for taking apart a jem, but for using a knife that looks so potentially painful... keep up the good work, and be careful.

you could try some other south-east asian tropical timber, like meranti and nyatoh.

wow, amazing work. i've just bought the benedetto book, so i actually have a slight remote idea about what's going on, and i can see the complexity and attention to detail a guitar like this requires. been to your site, and you have some fine examples there. absolutely fascinated by your work, so keep it up, and i hope you'll share with us many more.

hyunsu, i've been lurking around for the past few months checking out what everyone's been up to every now and then, and wow, i'm amazed by your workrate and dedication. you've been putting out some pretty nice guitars, and the quality of wood you've acquired makes me green with envy. keep up the good work, i'd like to see more.

john mayer's replaced the scratchplate on his srv sig with a tortoiseshell one, and it looks great. if i were to play it at home with no one watching (which is pretty much all the time, although i really wish it was a srv sig) i'd leave the initialled scratchplate, but for gigging i'd do the same as john mayer. either way, it wouldn't change how bad i play.
