I have an old peavey tracer body that I would like to work on. i dont have a neck for it. i was wondering what you all recommend:
-should i just by a neck for the body of ebay
-should i attempt to make a neck for the body(i dont have any experience building necks. i would like to try it but dont know if that is to much to swallow for a newbie)
if I do chose to build a neck for the body, is there any advice for a beginner
thanx

I live in Austin, TX USA. as far as shipping cost i really dont know. I never actually done this . i just got the idea and posted it to see of any one would be interested. if anyone outthere is inteested let me know what pup you have and how much and then we can iron out details if we can come to an agreement.
i dont think shipping charges will be that much but i would pick up the charges on my side.

hello
i have an old dimarzio super distortion humbucker that i'm looking to get rid off. it is a black/creme, two conductor humbucker. i'm looking in to getting a tone zone, evolution or a fred humbucker. i will be willing to throw in a couple of dollars to make it an even trade. if any body is interested let me know what you got and how much you want.
the humbucker works great (it is on one of my guitars now), but im looking to getting a four conducter humbucker for the brdge so i can split it and get more tonal variations.
thanx

i was wondering if anybody could help me achieve a burnt finish similar to the jem BSB. i have seen the tutorial on how to burn the wood but i was wondering what i should use for staining the wood.
does the wood have to be prepared in any way? (wood filler)
anything speacial about the finish since it doesnt have a clearcoat? (at least i dont remember it having a clear coat)
sorry if these are, for a lack of better words, stupid questions, but im a novice working on my first guitarra.
thanx for all the help

hello
after months and months of checking the website and reading the forum i have started my first guitar project. im trying to do the rg to jem conversion. so far i have striped all the paint off. i dont know what exactly i want to do. i cant decide between the burnt stain finish or a swirl. which one do you recommend for a novice.
do you know where i can get a copy of a rg/jem pickgaurd template. the guitar body im modifing did not come with one. i was wondering if anyone out there could e-mail it to me and i could print it out.
thanx
