  1. that turned out really good

how many coats did it take to get that burst

too many..lol all in all i guess about 5+ with a coat ontop of that to touch it up/ even it out

it want from a light almost watermellon color.. to purple... to deep purple (lots of blue in mixture) to black to darken up the edges..

so i guess it was a 4 stage burst.. i plan to put another coat of vintage amber( realy light coat) over it all to bring out the wood color.. and age it abit.. then off to clear it

    agaon thanks for all responces

  2. i love that idea for a color scheme

however i dont like that last mockup you did, if you did a little looser burst (more purple) and got black hardware it would look awsome imo!

i agree photo shop did the burs around the hard wear.. i defiantly will NOT be doing that also i will start of with a light honey color to enhance the wood color and grain then doing the purple and black burst.. im really shooting for the color i have shown on the musicman... hopefully i will be ordering the lacquer and lacquer die from stew mac some time this week and start coloring it next school vacation.. hopefully before if i can find the time.

thank you all for your support.. im truly a newbie at this wood finishing thing.. so i really appreciate all of the advice

next step is to get rid of the wrinkles in the top then hopefully paint in a couple of weeks.. just need to order the lacqure

another photoshop mock up.. i was board waiting for primer to dry,,lol

i also picked up a tremol-no.. all i need now is an edge pro and im ready to go!!

heres a photo shop mock up of what im kinda looking for..of course it will be more of a honey color like the musicman.. first time at photo shop.. just makes me want it even more lol

finnaly got nearly all the parts in and will be doing the binding this week... man schools realy getting in the way lol

also where can i find the lacqure needed to do this like stated before the three different colors... can i get them at a Lows or Home Depo.. or do i need to do some internet shoping ..

thank you soo much for all the help so far

    GodBless
