Just while where on the topic of TOM bridges the one i bought is a Gotoh GE-103BTN & the notches in the saddles are realy realy tiny. Are you supposed to file them down so the string fit better or use it as is.
Also ive seen pictures of guitars with the gotoh bridges & three of the saddles have been turned around. Should i do this?

I just bought a Bigsby B5 & i got a few questions about them.
It sais in the setup to install it as far back on your guitar as possible, but what if you put it so far back the whammy bar was out of reach.
On my guitar there is quite a bit of space under the bridge & if I installed it at the very end of my guitar then the end of the whammy bar would just be level with my bridge.
Is it really necessary to install it so far back?
Chears.

Ok so on most guitars that have pictures/prints on them their airbrushed on then lacquered.
But has anyone ever heard of getting a picture made on Paper or some suitable material to fit your guitar then laquer over it?

I'd like to know how to put prints (pictures) on a guitar.
How do you put pictures on guitars with intricate pictures like Jimi hendrixs Psychedelic Flying V or Zakk Wyldes Les Pauls or the Jackson Dinkys with the skulls on them or any other type of guitars alike?
Are they just pieces of paper with the print with lots of layers of laquer over them.
Or painting using templates?
Chears if anyone can help with this.

Hi All.
Soz if this question has been answered before /probably has but i culdnt find it.
Im wondering how you repaint/finish a guitar that has already been finished.
Can you just paint over it then laquer it or do u have to sand of the existing coat of finish.
Id appreciate any answers to this especially links to tutorials
Chears.

So if i recessed the TOM i wuldnt hav 2 angle my neck?
-
Or u culd try drawing it on paper the old fashioned way
You dont have to be an artist & you shouldnt have to draw it freehand.

Alrite theres a good point but have a look at this one then.

On my fender strat the where the string hits the saddle its about 12ml of the body.
Im not familair with T.O.M bridges but i want to install one that is 12.075 ml high so why wuld their be the need for a neck angle?

Hey Brother Luther, Consider having your fretboard/neck on hand when you lay out your drill holes. I find it too easy to make a mistake, but when the pieces are laid out in front of you to move around and measure, things come out better. Good luck -Vinny
Did u pay attention in maths class.

I keep my eyes peeled for old furniture being thrown out. Haven't found anything worthy so far, but one day...one day...
I've been meaning to hit some secondhand stores too, but haven't gotten around to it.
How can u not afford a cheap piece of wood.
I bought my piece for a meer $45 AUS dollars of the internet & its pretty much the cheapest thing on my guitar

Measure from the fret board side of the nut to the 12 fret & then double it & that gives you the fret scale.

Mmm... Interisting question Im stumped on that one...
We're talking about pickup mounting rings, right? Stew-mac doesn't seem to sell the flat ones in plastic, but they have them in metal. Either way, I recommend a different supplier, since their metal rings cost a fortune. I like Guitar Parts Depot (http://www.guitarpartsdepot.com) and GFS (http://store.guitarfetish.com/), but I don't know if they ship to Australia, or if it would be worthwhile even if they did. Maybe try your local guitar shop or Allparts dealer.
Ye where talking about rings here.
Do you think it would matter if I just bought two of the 7/16" plastic ones & used them?
The slite angle dusnt really effect the pickup does it

Im currentely working on a guitar.
Im buying two EMG humbuckers for my pickups & im using a Bigsby B5 Tailpiece with a Gotoh TOM bridge with no bushings so it will be quite low.
Because the bridge is so low I wont be needing one of the high pickups mounts & i will be using two low ones.
My problem is that on Stewart-macdonald the low pickup mounts are angled because their designed for a Les Paul with a Angled Neck.
I wont be angling my neck so the angle on the mounts is un needed.
So what im trying to ask is do pickup m ounts excist where there flat along the top.
Peace Out
