  1. I have a major thing against PRS guitars. 1. I don't like set-necks 2. they don't offer Floyd Rose 3. too much finish 4. Overpriced 5. Factory made......................I don't understand it either. There are much better guitars out there for a lot less. Personally, I have always loved Neck-thru guitars. the only good guitars PRS ever made were their pre 1994 models. They had less finish on the body and neck, and the heel on the neck was much shorter, enabling the player to touch the last fret with ease. But, as PRS grows, their quality goes down as demand goes up. Who knows, I just can't stand the people who have'nt even the slightest idea about the other guitars out there that blow PRS out of the water!! ..................GC is like the hot-topic of the guitar industry, they overcrowd the store with Fender, Gibson, and PRS. the only good thing about GC, is the used guitars. Sometimes they have a great used selection..................

that sounds exactly like ed roman's prs rant combined with his chain store rant

Well it's not.................Ed Roman is'nt the only person on planet earth who knows this stuff!! GC has taken over all the mom & pop shops over here. So I am forced to go there. I do realize what crap they sell!!

  2. Calm down ya freak. I have a Kahler Flyer U.S.A. made. And my other is an Original Floyd Rose. I don't care about sounding learned. Jesus, someone has a view different than your own and you **** your pants. :D

  3. Worst guitars I have ever seen.........Jackson are soo much better!!!

J/K Those guitars look very nice. My eyes were watering the whole time. It made me want to go out in the garage and build guitars. I want one!! I love his inlays, and the wood quality!!!! :D

  4. Never said that was an LTD. But looks at the LTD page, it shows all these artist and says they play a $180 guitar :D

I havent see war at the warfield in a looong time, but i highly doubt he was playing a floyd. I remember reading reviews were he said how much he hated them. And his black sig. model had a Kahler

i hope he hasent gone to floyds B)

I've got a Kahler on my Aria Pro, and it does'nt even compare to the Floyd Rose on my Carvin. The Kahler is to light, and it gets out of tune too easily. The Floyd rules over Kahler

  6. can u have a tilted headstock and still have a tremelo

Uhh, yea. It's better to have a tilted headstock and a graphite nut. If you had a flat headstock, it would usually require string trees, which (With a tremolo) would wear out your strings a lot faster. Most guitars with tremolos have tilted headstocks......Jackson, Carvin, Ibanez, ESP, Kramer etc.

  7. Let's just all agree on Jimmy Page is the king.

    hahaha, i think not!

Yea, Jimmy Page is not at all the best. There are more skilled guitarists out there. John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, Alex Scolnick, Yngwie Malmsteen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson (Though off guitarist subject) Steve Harris

  8. I would'nt talk if I had'nt learned from experience, I don't get everything from Ed, I have talked to some local luthiers who share my own opinions. Ranting one and trying to prove eachother wrong is getting us nowhere. Those of you questioning glue on the fretboard etc...........I don't want glue making a barrier between the guitar and neck............end.

  9. Yeah, he's right glue doesn't transfer tone very well. That's why Jimmy Page's guitar sounds like crap. And that's why Gibson and Prs are the 2 top guitar companies around..... :D  B)

People like you, just anger me. PRS and Gibson are crap. Gibson is guilty of fake tops, thick finishes, huge heels, set-necks. PRS are guilty of thick finishes, over glued necks, PRS are caked and coated with finish. They have jack for tone. I will say that PRS is still choosing good wood to use, and the only good models PRS ever made were his Pre 1994 models. Since then, the neck heels have gotten bigger, and finishes have gotten thicker. Not to mention the price for an entirely factory made guitar. the only reason PRS is popular is because the way they look, not the way they sound. You think all the gay ass Nu-Metal bands that play em know anything?.................I hold my opinion, Set-necks are terrible for tone. Neck-thru also use glue, but heres the thing. The pickups are mounted to the neck, the bridge is mounted to the neck, and the tonality travels throughout the neck and parts of the body, which gives it a more crunchy tone, and more sustain. Set-necks, are glued right smack in the middle where the tone would travel to the neck. The neck and body are not sharing the tonal frequencies. the set-neck slows the tone down, and weakens it. Thats why I prefer a bolt on neck, nothing should be in between the neck and the body, not even paint!! If you want a good sound, the wood must be as one, not caked in glue..............Gibson and PRS are more prized and popular because they are expensive guitars, and they catch the eye. Well, price is'nt everything people. I would rather have a Jackson RR3 than a PRS any day.

  10. why not just get a bolt on? i preffer a bolt on (even though it aint for me) and, why would you want to cut it in half already? just do a bolt on or set neck for it

    Curtis

I am tired of the tone I get from Bolt-on necks, and I love the sustain from Neck-thru. I won't ever do Set-neck, as it has no tone. GLUE DOES NOT TRANSFER SOUND WELL. Set-necks are all wrong, i'll never use em.

But, I'll see what Carvin will do for me, thanks dude!!

  11. I need help with a neck thru guitar. I totally suck at building guitar necks, and I don't have the time to make one. So, does anyone know a site that sells 17" or longer neck thru necks..........besides any custom luthiers. I've tried Ed Roman, but necks cost $400 !!!! I was going to buy one from Carvin, but the body length was only 15" and I need a body length of at leas 15" to 16"...............Thanks :D
