Refnish to your own taste, what pups are in it stock?
New electronic features (coil splitting or phasing maybe?)
Dont think about changing it till its in your hands and you can see what your happy with and not happy with, then you can decide what needs changing.

Firstly we cant get it and secondly what Im locking for now is a non floating trem that works with a tune o matic and stays in tune as good as a stop bar

Ok I got some sketchs done
Heres the headstock

Heres the fretboard inlays The one at the top is for the 24th fret and it goes down in the regular order 24,1,19,15,17,15,13-11,9,7,5,3)

I havent done any proper sketchs yet so the sizes and curves arent done properly but these are the best sketchs Ive got.
Any thoughts on what material to use preferably what type of wood to use as an inlay?

Ok so what types of non floating bridges are there that would stay in tune, are versitile and are somewhat like either the stop bar or a mustang bridge that I can use a tune o matic with. Apart from a bigsby.
And about resting. I tend to rest my hand on the stopbar and strings as far as the bridge.

The TOM would work well and stay in tune with a Mustang trem with locking tuners wouldnt it?
-
Yeah the Dtuna is a solution but not for weird tuning like some bands like Machine head use.
-
What If you use locking tuners?
-
I dont loke bigsbys, Can I use a tune o matic with a nustang or jaguar vibrato?
-
I dunno If I put in the speed loader Id still prob put in some fake tunres just for the vintage look also I dont think I can get speedloader strings in Ireland so I would have to order them in all the time. And you cant down tune them with out some string changes and even then it is limited.
Also I like the TOMs feel with a stop bar especialy for resting my hand on it.
What is the best way to get a TOM with a trem?

Im sure you could buy metal letters and numbers somewhere if so could you just stick these to a metal plate and screw that to a metal shaft?
-
To remove the oils?
If thats what you mean, and acetone is what I thik it is (a product name) me thinks they dont sell it in Ireland
EDIT: Ok had a look around and have come to the conclusion that there basicly the same thing.

Where do you get branding irons and how much? If I was only going to use it once could is there somewhere I could get it done cheaply?
-
I dont see dice on the wildcat pics on epiphone.com?
-
Maybe theyre flatsawn and turned on there sides making them quarter sawn (I think) or else when the neck is profile it reveals the eyes.
-
Yep thats what I was told on another forum. Its supposed to be great for removing oil on woods such as guncalo alvez that are too oily to glue.
-
Sorry I meant pull - when you pull them
-
Will the screw on knob with a split shaft stay on if I use oush/pull pots when I push them?
-
OK found the old thread and rvived that. Can I delete this one otherwise Im just gonna let it die out dont bother responding to it unless your telling me how to delete it.
-
So will the screw holding technique work with split shaft pots.
By this I mean can I use a scre to secure the knobs to the pot if it has a split shaft or does it have to be one of those solid shaft pots?
-
Also may I suggest inspecting the shielding.
-
Im missing it.
Is it suppposed to be there or are you just suggesting it be put there?
You probably think Im realy stupid
-
I am thinking of making my own knobs for a guitar. Can anyone show me a tutorial or something on how to make them. Preferably ones that can fit a split shaft pot.
Thanks

I think its the guitarfreak off ultimate guitar. Theres been a bit about DIY guitars there recently and they have made new titles for people (official luthier, official electronics or somewhat)
