I stuck the fret board to this piece of plywood and made 2 pucks, one with a 10" radius and one with a 16". then ran it over the router table to get the profile. It worked well.

Slotted, I need a better saw. I printed the fret layout from autocad.

Finger board is Padauk, I have a nice Hardwood store nearby, and have this from making a few cutting boards and some other projects.

The body slash wings will probably be bass wood cause I got some nice chunks laying around. I plan to do a cover (forget the correct term) just for the practice, and its easier on the tools.

Hyunsu atashi, where do you live? I was stationed in Korea in '90, 91 U.S. Army. I lived in Camp Howze, if my memory serves me correctly about 1 1/2 hours by bus north of Seoul. There was a guitar factory nearby I think it was Ovation.

Kimchi is one of the nastyest smelling things to Americans, although it doesn't taste bad. My roommate put some in our fridge, eventhough it was in a tuppaware container the smell still permiated into all the other food in there. Kimchi tasting chocolate cake, ohyeah.

Hyunsu, I'd say your progress pic are the most inspiring for us beginners. Hope you keep it up.

I think I read somewhere of somone built a little closet in a basement, and just kept a light bulb burning in it 24 / 7 to keep the wood dry.

You can buy one brand new for $299 and get the accessorry kit free. I've had one for 2 or 3 years now and I think i'd pay for a new if someone stole it. You could part it out on ebay and get more then $300 back. I've seen where people buy 2 and hook the rails together. IMO, this saw rocks, I don't have the money for a big cabinet saw, and it does what I need it to do. I don't try to cut a full sheet of plywood with it, unless its 3/8"or less. Yet its held up to the abuse I do give it, being an amatuer, and a beginner.

Are you gonna steal my saw?

I don't feel like paying for nut files yet, they are pricy.

I usually go to Kettle Moraine Hardwoods in slinger, are you talking about the same place? the last time I was there they only had 1/2" thick mohogany.

I got this stuff at Menards cause its cheap, for practice. Gonna try building a couple Daisy Rock type for my daughters.

Hi, The reason I ask is Menards, (kinda like Home Depot here in Wisconsin) sells it. Its the shrink wrapped stuff. Is it any good for guitars? Its cheap ($10 for a 1x6 - 6') so I think I'll get some for My first couple builds.

Did you cut all the neck laminates seperate? Or clamp em all together and cut em all at once? Looks like you had great success getting em all to line up when gluing. Whats the trick?

I had an idea thats alittle higher on the evolutionary scale. A frog. The body would the main body, top jaw - top horn, lower jaw - lower horn, the neck and head would be his toungue with a fly on the end.

I'm pretty sure Silverleaf maple is soft maple. I got a couple logs 8' x 36" dia. If I could just get em cut up.
