  1. yeah, not necessary

but some people like to do it

and some people like to see it

    that's what i'm saying

Well, I get an infarct every time I see someone smashing a guitar :D

No one thinks about my poor, little hearth? B)

  2. the 'stars' do give away a lot of guitars

but it can be fun to watch someone get 'crazy' in a song :D

If you see me playing, you'll think that I'm insane... I mean, I always went crazy when I played live, even when I'm rehearsing with my groups... You know, it's like I'm raping my guitar, I play it on my shoulders, or make a lead licking the strings (tasty),lol B) we often play slayer songs and my guitar is mounting a vintage trem so you can figure out :D how bad it seems I'm threating a $200 guitar... but she's still ok :D... it's not necessary to throw it in the air to entertain people :D

  3. why would you even play a guitar you didn't love?but my biggest gripe is that when i was a kid i couldn't afford a decent guitar and i wanted one soooo bad,and here were a bunch of spoiled rockstars smashing really good ones just to make a scene.a musical instrument is made to be played and if it's not good enough for the person who owns it he should give it to someone who would cherish it.just my opinion.besides how long is it really going to be before we run out of suitable whole pieces of wood for guitars? :D

    That's the point!

  4. excatcly wes! it pisses me off when i see guitar player or bass player throw thier instrument! i guess when you dont pay for them you dont really care, but i take as best of care to any instrument be it a prs or a harmony it doesnt matter i like hendrix's music but when he used to burn them thats when i lost all respect for him. as all the others out there that do that stuff!

I would NEVER smash or burn my guitar. I have I Yamaha Pacifica 112, one of their cheapest model, but I would not destroy her even if someone will give me a Jackson Kelly handmade from the custom shop.

I may seem stupid saying this, but only a person that REALLY loves guitars, even if they're cheap plywood ****, can really understand me. Consider that it's since four years that me and my guitar are thrashing :D the **** out of all that people that buy high end guitars and can't even play a MegadetH riff...

I also saved a $15 guitar that (even if it has a solid body) plays like **** and was going to be smashed by some punk... of course I buyed it, but even stealing it would not have been a crime...

Sorry for the long O.T., but I agree with westhemann and ryesnotcool2 B)

  5. Hi all, got another question.

I have a warmoth double expanding truss rod and I'm ready to route the channel on the neck. Does it need a curved channel or a flat one?

If it needs a flat channel, can I glue fretboard directly over the neck without using a filler strip to cover the truss rod?

  6. Hi all, tomorrow I'm going to start working again on my guitar.

I'm making a neck-through, and I've already made the wings (even if I'm going to do again the upper wing 'cause it came out bad :D).

So I was thinking... what if I make some bad routing on it? I'll have to do all the work again?

Since I think that to prevent is better, I was wondering if I have to buy one of those ball bearing router bits that stewmac sells (I can't find it near where I live...), but is there another method to do all the routing stuff well (pick-ups, recessed floyd rose, controls) without the ball bearing attachment?

As always, if my english sucks, it's not my fault B)

  7. I ended up in another way. Since the top of the wing was already planed flat, I carefully used the router freehand to remove much wood as possible near the edge line, not too deep. Then, using a ball bearing bit, I finished routing following the already routed part, and then removing imperfections with a rasp. Since it's the first time I work with wood, and I never used router, rasp and jig saw before, I'm quite satisfied with the result.
