Its a universe with the jem handle and painted f's from a paul gilbert. Kinda crazy yeah, but i like it. Specs would be

Alderbody with quilted maple top

Quilted maple neck

rose wood fretboard

Paua abalone vine

Paua abalone purfering around body and headstock

Black/White binding around body, fretboard and headstock

Trem cavity painted white to match F's (still unsure about this)

Electronics unknown at this time

is it possible to buy just the variax electronics? if so i have some plans.....

I went over a buds house with some friends and my gf, it was our first new years together so it was special. Me and her went out and i got pulled over by a cop... I had forgotten to turn my head lights on so he pulled me over to tell me, then he asked my lic. and regestration... Well i had that, then he asked for proof of insurence, my dad had my card but didnt put it in my car, so he wrote me a ticket for that, and said he also put the headlight thing on it just because he cant write a ticket for just no proof of insurence. He was nice and all i have to do is go down to the court house and show i have my card and everything will be taken off. Other then that it was fun just to hang out.

Sorry to say matt but the V has been put on the back burner for now. Prolly will get back to it mid febuary or so.

lol, well i dont think he is going to write a tut. If he gives out step by step instructions and how to do all his cool techiques he is putting himself out of a job .

okay... ive been wondering this for a while and just never asked, what is a drop top? Is it just veneer of wood on top of a body?

HAHA nice one. Anyway, i worked on my project today and im totally into it. Its like i put it down for a while, so i found it hard to pick it back up, but now i have i love it. Check out my thread in the progess section for the update.

i dig it, love the color, just dont really dig the top body contour, looks weird to me lol.

Not on this one, its a lot of work and is mainly just for looks,i wouldnt know how to do it with the plastic, or even where to start with on in general.

Well, today was productive. I did something that scared the living frik out of me and actually pulled it off. I routed the plastic back for the recessed trem. The recess was already cut before i glued the plastic on, dont ask why i did that. Ive learned a lot and if i ever have to do another mirror top, i have a whole new precedure. Well anyway i was scared cause i couldnt see where the wall was and just didnt want to cut to far over, this tried my patience all morning. I had to go uber slow and stop every few sec and remessure. Anyway, here is the out come. I still have a couple of sides to even up a little bit more, i had to stop early so i will finish up in the next couple of days.

i would, but we have like no room in the back yard, there is already a big shed that we store stuff in, plus my moms huge garden. If i built a shed it would be the size of a cardbaord box.

well, i dont really know what i can do to add anything cooler to the project. fretbaord is already inlaid with leds and the jem has a mirror front. It not so much that i dont want to to work on them as it is i dont know how. Its pooring down rain here, and i dont have a workshop inside. My work shop is two sawhorses with a big flat board across it. I have to work outside, and when its raining its just freaking cold outside, i have an awing (sp?) so i can keep out of the rain, but it has a lot of crap on it, barbacue, bench and what not. The rain is starting to slow down, so im going to try and go out and do some stuff, im gonna take a thermas with some hot choco so i stay warm . Im at a cruical stage in the jem's process, if i miss up the body is shot..... Ill post some pics when i come in.

Im in the middle of building two freaking awsome looking guitars... all of the sudden is getting closer and closer to finsh and i seem to be getting lazier and lazier about finishing them. This happen to anyone else, what do u use to get u back up and really modivated?

if u wanted to throw some leds in there i can help if u want.

I cut the rest of the plastic out (i.e. pup cavities and handle). I Just need to figure out a way to cut the recessed tremolo cavity out.... Havent qutie figured this out.

i will take it if ur going to scrap it, i always like taking things people dont use and are just giong to throw away. you could remove the fretboard save it and use it on ur neck project.... but if u really dont want it ill find a use for it.

if u recess the tom you dont need a neck angle right? I love the recess tom look and if i dont have to do a neck angle then its a two for one.
