  1. You could sand the finish up, put water in the holes to rasie the grain, and keep doing so little by little (dont drown the guitar all at once) till the grain is rasied over the rest of the body and sand back down flush. Ive seen guys with dents worse then that in there wood in shop class and our teacher tells us to do this method, works really good for us, just u have to have patience and do one at a time.

  2. I was using stewmacs glue...... i know ive heard mixed responses but i bought some and decided to try, well after this project its going in the garbage lol. I ended up taking off the back to both fretboards, i like the look of it i think it looks cool and some what original, i will post pics later, i have to fix an led... I got the whole fretboard sanded with 2000, lit it up and found out an led had died in the process.... now i get to pull it out replace it and do a lot of resanding lol i will get some pics asap. btw it was a pearloid binding and a white plastic.

  3. Well, im working on my fretboard today sanding it, get it up to 2000 griit (where it starts to shine :D) and what happens the edge of my binding at the end of the 24th fret (it had a little edge on it that didnt get cut off yet) caught the shorts and ripped it off the end of the fretboard, omg im so frustrated, the edges of these fretboards have given my so much crap. So here is what im think, having binding just along the sides of the fretboards and not at the end, ive never seen it done and it think it could be something original, but im wondering if anyone else has done/seen it done like this before, either that or i have to reglue the binding and start over again....... im thinking leave it off cause it would look kinda cool (least to me) and original..

  4. Not anymore rude then half the guys around here haha, but rude comes with an answer when u dont do ur research. I myself have been known to ask question without researching first, i get a rude reply, but also an answer, i take both and go oh next time maybe i should research next time. So just ask urself before u ask a quesion, has this already been answered? well i get a rude reply? and they ask if u choose. Project guitar has been around for what 3 years now, i think binding has been answered many a time in those three years lol.

  5. Well, last sunday i got my jem fretboard sanded down (leds and binding) up to 320, then i went into town only to find that no one had any really fine grit sand paper, i ended up going to paintmart and they had a whole bunch, so now im just waiting for the weekend to roll aorund again so i can work and sand it up too 2000 grit, cant wait to see how good she comes out, she is already so smooth and looks so nice and thats only with 320 :D:D . I took the fretboard to school to show my shop teacher an update, everyone if every class asked if they could see it, so i lit it up and you should have seen the expression on peoples faces over just a few lights in a fretboard haha, talk about a crowd pleaser everyone should try this lol.
