  1. I went to the plastic shop today and my mirror front is underway being worked on as we speak. He said it should be done monday, if not monday then tuesday most likely, depends on how many problems he encouters. He gave me a big piece of scrap so that i could test different types of glues to glue it. Total cost it cost me for the material was 13 dollers.... lol, the price came in in labor which was about 60 buck. so round80 bucks total, i didnt think it was bad at all compared to sims, lol. So ibanez and sims even for that matter are totally marking these things outta control. I also got my jem and V neck cut out and here are some pics.

  2. My cousin saw me building my jem and decided he wanted one. He has never built a guitar before, he asked me to help him. Here are the specs of his.

    Ibanez Jem:

Rosewood fretboard w/ some crazy inlay in it (he is buying it pre inlaid)

    Birdseye maple neck

    Ash Body

    Dimarzio or seymour duncan pickups

Flody rose (not sure if cheap or pricy yet)

Some paint job that he wants to do.

So far we have the body cut out and tomarrow we will cut out the neck and i will post some pics. He let me be the ginny pig and make all the mistakes first so he didnt do the samething lol, jerk.... ill keep ya posted

  3. Im working on my 2nd guitar and have never painted anything in my life with a gun or can. So im wondering which do you think i should start with? Is there an easier one? So i pick both up and start using both? I know there are prolly a lot more colors in paint then cans but im still wondering. I have done the research on the site and am really scared to try both lol. What do u guys think?

  4. my battery compartment is for the leds to power off of and its not done yet lol. Thats why it looks so shottie. i did that roughly and then had to clean up cause it was getting really dark outside. I will go over and clean it up tomarrow most likely if it dont rain. Also i am going to put some then foam type stuff in the trem cavity, im debating between foam and a thin piece of alder. I would do alder but would be confussed on how to glue it in there. We will find out. Also it seems like my neck wasnt meant to be, after about 2 or 3 mess ups and 2 or 3 repairs i made one more mistake on it. Dont even seem how i did it but i did :D . So im going to talk to my teach, he might know a way to fix it. If not, im not too heart broken, guess it just wasnt meant to be lol. I have some birdseye maple here too so i can get right back on it.

  5. Just got done routing some more of the Jem. The only things i have to finish up now are the rest of the front of the trem recess and the rest of the battery cavity on the back. Then the routing on the jem is done and i get to move onto the routing of the cavity for the V. Here is a pic and links to the rest.

Edit: Just found something that made my day, i was looking in my garage and found a huge piece of wood i bought and forgot i had of alder. There is enough for at least two more guitars here :DB):D

  6. I actually think i am going to pick up a copy of this book, just curious what it can teach me. After all its only 20 bucks,i spend more then that at lunch every week so why not, and it is a book i an keep around forever in case i forget something. I might just type it up or make copys and post it here for all you guys to see whats so special (if anything) about it. Ill keep you posted on it.......

  7. What i did to clean my finger boards when stuff would build up was just take a rag and some guitar cleaner (mine was ernie ball cleaner) and just stuck the tip of my fingernail in the rag and scrubed it away. Of course mine didnt look that bad so maybe my idea is out of the question.

  8. Ive done tons of business with this guy. He is a good guy and his products are nice. I never used paypal with him, of course i never had pay pal when i first bought from him. He did tell me he does only accept money orders. So what i did was wait till everything i needed went off (if you buy more then one thing), just tell him and he will put ur stuff aside till everything goes off, then i went and got one money order. Parts arivied in aobut 4 days and was happy on both ends.

  9. I got the pieces of alder glued in today. Tomarrow i am taking an epoxy and filling around the pieces cause they are a little off in some places. Then this weekend i will finish routing the jem and V. After that i will move onto starting my necks. First i will cut necks out then then route truss rod channels, then shape them. I will start the necks on monday. This weekend i am also hoping to install my leds into my fretboard (keeping fingers crossed but dont know if i will be able too, depends on what goes on and how much time i have).
