I would like to know:
1) What are you plugging into the 1/4" jacks? Amps? DI boxes? Just guitars?
2) What type of sound card do you have? (Cards that have 1/8" jacks usually have a mic jack and/or a line input... not 2 mic inputs or 2 line inputs.)
If we have a few more details then we can give you advice that is appropriate for your situation and resources... rather than just saying "Yes" or "No" to the question.
D~s
its just gonna be a bass with an active pickup and a guitar with a passive and a pedal, i was mistaken about the 2 1/8", i wasnt thinking at the time.
thanks for the help both of you.

im hoping to get useful replies by tomorrow, before 2 , im going to my bassists church for a LAN party, and im taking my computer and hopefully what will be my mixer box, so we can record
-
ok. im gonna try this, im gonna get 4 1/4" jacks and 2 1/8" jacks, and wire the four going into the two. will that blow my computer? theres no amps going into the inputs, just straight guitar
-
they had one on ebay, 400 buy it now
-
how does one go about doing this? i dont wanna get my neck covered in paint, and i cant cut up the neck and do it, so please someone help.
-
No the 3 way Xover won't work there, it is designed for tweeters, you will here is mostly hiss coming out of your 10's. There is not much freq responce in guitar, that's why all you see is speaker and not tweeters on guitar amps. on bass you have them so that the slap of the strings sound more bright!
You are going way over what you need to make a good guitar cab. Just look at what the pros are using, Zakk, Slash, Hammett, King, there are no tweets on their set up. Just a thoguht.
by the way... how is the neck
-
hmm, maybe ill stick with the 12x15 combo, i dont really like slash or any of those other guys, the only one with a good sound is hammet and that was in Orion
-
now im thinking again, i have another idea, i could add in some 10's (guitar speakers, not bass) for mids and use a 3 way crossover, but... i need to get it down to 8 ohms, is that possible with four 8 ohm speakers and two 4 ohms?
-
im getting 15" subs so i got lots of bass and im using the 12s for lomid/highmid/treble
-
where do i find an active crossover, and are they expensive?
-
me and my band are gonna cover cemetary gates at one of our shows and play it in tribute to dimebag and all the other unfortunate people there
-
also forgot to mention, i DO know howto build cabs and how to wire them, so i do have experience with them
-
ok, im building a cabinet with 2x12's and 2x15's all 8 ohms, i wanna put in a crossover that i saw on partsexpress.com Crossover , but heres what i wanna know and do, i wanna crossover all the bass frequencies to the 15's and the mids and highs to the 12's, will it work? i also wanna know if any of you have used crossovers in guitar cabs before
-
i also have metallicas ride the lightning DEMO, and their first live practice

I have -never- heard of simple retubing for 'more gain'.
well i remember the high gain retube kits for the 5150's , i was talking about something like that
-
alright, i just bought a crate BV120H for 335, and i wanna retube it so it has more gain. i believe it has 4 12ax7's and 4 6L6/5881's , also, would i need to have it rebiased?
-
never heard it!
i believe i have...all the lyrics were completely different and i didn't like the leads as much
the only difference in the lyrics is , the four horseman, because at the time it was called the mechanix

i love their demo album: no life till leather, when it was james, dave, ron and lars
-
its solid state. peavey renown

i do not know anything aobut bass amps. my freind was wondering what a good bass amp head was. there isnt any real price range lol. his mom disowned him so he gets 500 dollars a month fomr her its great. anyways we just wannna know a good stack or something thanks
i dont know about a head, but a great cabinet is a peavey 3620, its two 18" and two 10 inch speakers, actually, a good combo, which is hard to find nowadays, is a swr redhead 800 watt 15" combo, they are feckin rare, my bassists uncle had one
-
im having trouble with my renown once again, now that im in a band, i have to turn up my amp, when i have it on anything above 2, the sound dies out, all the notes die, they are real weak, it sounds like im palm muting them when im shredding, when i hit chords, the hum goes away and fades back in, what is wrong with my amp? i will try to get soundclips up

play chalice of blood or through eyes of glass, by FORBIDDEN \m/
-
Distorted vocals yes, if only the result of screamingly bad singer and a crappy PA... blast beats? The rest of the band was stoked when we plpayed with Bloodlet in MD. The rest of the band said we were grindcore- so i went with it.
Peace,Ryan
blast beats are what make up grindcore, constant bass/snare super fast, like for instance
B= bass drum
S=snare
all 32nd notes....

Megadeth is a fine choice, now play Hanger 18
good luck with that.
Vote number two for some APC or Tool. Nobody can possibly dislike either band's music.
and me, i think they are gross
