I buffed up my Guitar with a rubbing compound by 3M, then I didn't need scratch or swirl remover. I CANNOT though find ANYWHERE's Meguiar's #7 Auto Glaze anywheres, and I need to finish this Guitar up, is there any more 'known' glazes to be recommended?

Well thirty days is almost up for my guitar. I have a variable speed drill, any idea how fast I should go?

What if I do it and the shine is good, or the Guitar is showing no scratches? I am afraid of using a drill buffer, is it easy?

And after we do that, is anything else need to be done, or should I just keep it as is?

Could it be used as the base buffer, though?

Will this stuff be good to put on a drill buffer (it has instructions to do so on back of bottle) and shine up my Guitar?

I have been spraying clear coat, and the front of the guitar, below the bridge is extremely rough and am uncertain if enough clearcoat is there. We have gotten six coats so far...

I was wondering, if dust gets in, can we sand it out? Or no?

Okay, I looked around and in my house I have 3M Rubbing Compound AND 3M Machine Polish (the stuff ReRanch sells). Will this work for the buffing, etc?

Also with the buffer, how does it work, do I apply much pressure or just nicely touch it? Don't want to ruin the finish.

So we do not sand this final color coat? I spoke to the ReRanch guys they told us use this 3M Machine Polish.

Nitro. So, is it okay if the paint feels matte? Then I spray the coats, then wait thirty days wet sand, then buff (we don't know how to do it, but we are going to use the StewMac Drill Buffer, anyone have any tips?).?

Me and my dad just did the final coat of pain and are ready to do the Clear Coat. We are confused, are we supposed to sand it smooth (the paint) or let it be matte? Also, we are going to be buying a Drill Buffer from StewMac, how do we do that?

What is the whole deal? How many coats should I do for a Thin Skin, I like it because it ages faster and Grain shows through after awhile :-D

Thanks guys, so no sand and sealer? Man this is getting confusing, how about a white primer, i always see white under that paint. Will go with ReRanch.

Maiden, I know I need Sealer and Filler. What exactly is Sand and Sealer though. Will I need a White primer? Also, what do you mean useless after long term experience? I need it in Aerosol in Baby Blue/Sonic Blue.

Sand and Sealer is it! Should it be water based or what? And, the clear gloss, where can I get Nitro Gloss? I will get all of those things, thanks guys me and my dad can't wait! And, it is Swamp Ash.

I will be painting my Guitar and was wondering is this it: I need Grain Filler, one can, do I need Sand Filler? Re Ranch Paints, 2 cans, then 2 cans of clear coat. What type of clear coat should I get, this it other than sand paper, etc?

Okay the guy told me one can of 16oz will suffice, but will do. Also, the white primer, any certain kind? And do I need Sand coat or just clear coat.

I guess I can wait ANOTHER month hahaha.

Hello everyone, I am Fourteen Years Old and me and my Dad are going to be making a Warmoth Stratocaster. I was wondering about finishing the Guitar, mainly about the paint. We read the original Guitars by Fender were done with DuPont Lacquer, but we also found a Paint from ReRanch.com I want to do Baby Blue (Sonic Blue) MAYBE Surf Green, but Sonic Blue seems more original.

Now, I was wondering, how long does the paint and lacquer from them take to cure? I was a finish that will Relic itself over the years, I don't want a beast that for 50 years will look the same, so I was just wondering.

Thank you all! This is my first Guitar I will be making, I own a Les Paul Standard from 2005 now. This Strat will have a Boat Neck with Lindy Fralin Real '54 Pickups, a Left Handed Tremolo (it is more comfortable for me, and yes, also a nod to Stevie Ray), and it is going to be set up by a Guitar friend of mines Dad. But me and my Dad want to paint, so we were wondering if we should seek DuPont or go to ReRanch.
