That actually is the grain of the rosewood.

What type of wood is the body made of?

I believe the body is alder, it's one solid piece too.

So far I'm up to $773 Canadian including all S&H and Duties.

This guy has the smoothest butteryest tone in the world and knows exactly the right moments to play and when to shut-up and let the band take the groove.

Just use 250k pots. That's what i used on my Strat with Texas specials. For single coils you shouldn't go above 250k.
