  1. Hey matt, awesome design you got going on there, its been awhile since I've really posted anything but I've kept an eye on your work. Lets see some pics of this thing, nice clean but aggressive design. Keep em coming...oh yeah and hows the female friend coming along?

  2. Haha why dont you update us with the pictures already??? They're already on your website anyways  :D

Because im not finished with it yet. When its finished, you can see the REAL pics

Haha I guess this is where you would say "assume, its makes an a** outta you and me" I just thought because there were sound clips of the guitar, it meant it was pretty much done. Well cant wait to see it completely finished.

  3. Haha honestly I wouldn't buy the 12 string to keep 6 strings on. Like he said, the necks are a helluva lot fatter than regular 6 strings. Than second of all its uneconomical as heck. Just putting on 6 strings only to buy a new set of them to put them back on. Haha in that time, I wouldve worked enough hours in my job to buy another guitar. Buy a doubleneck. You could swtich from 12 strings 6 strings in a heartbeat....or get Vai's tripleneck

  4. Thats killer. What exactly did matt have? Haha hes going to have a pleasant suprise when he comes onto the internet back at home. Oh yeah, just wondering, I know he went down to help out with you not only to work on his guitar. What else has he been doing/working on. Well now its time for you to open up an intern oppotunity/ LGM school :D

  5. I agree with Devon, you play it...enjoy it, than you will always be playing it because thinking about putting down your new guitar and taking apart to respray is going to seem like sucha drag. Why give yourself a taste of what its going to be like before its even done. Thats just gonna make you anticipate what you're missing out on.

  6. Haha thats funny because I have this place nearby my house called the wood workers club. Theres a section full of wood and in the back they have tons of tools that you have access too for a monthly fee. I guess they were smart enough to cock up that plan because last time I was there, a bunch of people were in the shop

  7. Honestly I think its a nice piece of work considering how much time/effort/care that was put into that piece. And heres the real story of the guitar from ER's site

"It has recently come to light that this unbelievable one of a kind piece of art was handmade as a tribute and present for Yngwie Malmsteen! The builder who it seems attended a high end luthier school in California returned home to Japan and built this for Yngwie as he was so inspired by Yngwie's playing and music. This Guitar was displayed at the NAMM show some years ago, Ed saw it there, having a penchant for odd guitars took photos of it at that time. There the story of this unique instrument takes an odd twist. The guitar was then sent to Miami for Yngwie, but It was never claimed when it was not claimed (for whatever strange reason, possibly he was on tour), it was impounded and then bought at a very dear price at auction.

The new owner contacted Ed several years ago to sell the guitar. He described the guitar to Ed. When Ed told him he had a picture of it on the website already he was quite surprised and immediately knew that Ed would be the right person to sell this fine one of a kind collectors dream instrument !"

  8. Well thank you jmrentis for those words. Im just happy to know I have this opportunity arrising even though it is delayed. Definitely by the end of the year I would have gone down there. He works out of his shop in his basement, he said for living purposes I would live with him at his house. You can see some of the process here

Check out that piece of maple...insane stuff.

Hopefully I get to call him after work about when the soonest I could possibly come down there is.

  9. Yeah definitely, it would be the best learning and training experience of a lifetime. Also he said that Roberto Venn school was a waste of money which saves me some money and time. He said that its just basic woodworking skills and a mediocre business class. Maybe by late august I can go out there and work for him fulltime hehehe thatd be sweet.

For everyone else thats just tearing eachother up, this is flat out stupid. Making usernames to bash the mods. Do something with your time. One of the main reasons why I'm barely on this site anymore is because I don't find advice here anymore, its just people that try to get advice than get screwed with junk on their thread because somebody they didnt like posted in the thread. Its trash, if you dont like somebody keep it to yourself instead of trashing peoples threads like its all OK. The mods do their best and if they act "mean" towards you, get over it. They're probably just pissed because they have to deal with a bunch of people like you.

  10. Well I know I havn't posted in awhile but I decided you guys would be the first to here about this...I had a huge opportunity building guitars this summer and it got blown away because my "source" screwed up by being slow on phone calls. My best friends, moms, boyfriends, cousin, Jack Briggs, owns a guitar company called Briggs guitars. If any of you got the last Vintage Guitar magazine, there was an article for this guitars in there. So he said I could go down there, he'll teach me everything I don't know, how he does things and pretty much everything he knowns so I could build his guitars for the summer, but because his cousin, Steve Briggs took too long with phone calls and emails towards him Jack said "its too late in the summer and I just got about 4 orders and he would be too busy to teach"...hmm this sucks haha...I already took off work and said bye to everyone to find out that idea just died in my face. Well he said when hes not as busy I can come down there and help. Luckily I homeschool so maybe I can go there in the fall when he was time. Well didnt mean to dump on you guys but just wanted to show what was up.

    His site is
