  1. haven't decided yet - whole bunch of ideas though. If the guitar comes out nice enough i plan to make it a tribute to my Bro - he was an awesome artist and he once gave me a t-shirt with a dragon he'd drawn on it. Its always been my favourite pic its absoloutly brilliant so it may well end up on the front. I was actually very inspired by Jeremy's (LGM) 911 Jem. AI kinda got the dedication idea from there. I really like the engraved backplate - may well do that also. I thinking black back and sides and maybe a blue stain on the top - kinda fake quilt top deal.

  2. No still doesn't seem to work - however I'm in the middle of a Beast project myself I'd be interested to trade notes with you on it. i was a bit rough with my dimensions - I'm not too concerned about it being an exact replica. Basically I just found a front shot of the guitar - opened it in Microsoft Publisher and brought it to full size - which I measured with Publishers ruler on the scale length - once I had 25.5" I knew I had an exact to scale picture. Then I just printed it - joined all my seperate pieces of paper and taped them to a piece of masonite to cut a template. I'm in the process of setting up a web page with some photos - I'll post em when I'm done.

  3. Hi all,

I'm just shopping around for some timber for a body I want to build. As this is going to be my first crack at building one I wanted to minimise my investment. I've found a local timber shop that can sell me some hoop pine which is 38mm thick - 1 1/2 inches. Can I get away with this thickness? I'm building a copy of a BC Rich Beast with a Floyd Rose and EMG and a AANJ neck.

  4. Hi,

This is my first post here and I hate to ask a stupid question but I've hunted around various sites and can't find an answer so here goes.

I currently thinking about having a crack at building my own guitar. I'm thinking of doing something like a BC Rich Beast type shape. I've looked at a couple of really helpfull photographic step by step accounts of people doing this. In both cases they used two pieces for the body glued together instead of one piece. I'm wondering what the reasoning for this is. Pro's vs cons of one piece or joined?

    Cheerz,

    Kirk :D
