The neck is very nice maple/rosewood ,as a matter of fact it belonged to a Lado Hawk worth quite a bit in it's time but somebody broke the body and slapped this rubbish to it. I think I'm definately going to try the body first and see,hardware and pups are ok. Thanks Aharon

Not sure I find any logic in this comment. I understand the sound of a guitar to be colored by lots of factors....all woods, type of pups, scale length, etc....and even type of bridge can create it's specific character........... but a Kahler bridge creating a darker sound...... Are you sure you're magic laminate body isnt creating that sound??? ← Hi RGGR There might very well be no logic to my statement that's why I seek enlightment from you guys..... The laminate could be the problem that's one of the reasons I want a new bod (besides....laminate....come on...hahaha).I've heard comments about that type of bridge killing highs but I have to admit it could be bunk.I just want to make sure I get a bright sounding guitar when I'm done. If you have any other tips or advice please...let me know Thanks and take care. Aharon

Thanks Godin. The flame maple cap sounds good since I want a natural finish on this one with a rear route,no more pickguard.Hope this wood combo counters the darkish tone that I blame on the Kahler bridge. Aharon

Sorry....forgot to mention,it's some sort of laminate.

I have a strat style guitar,love the neck but the body is crap.The bridge is a surface mount Kahler (the one with the wheel saddles) and might be the cause of the guitar being a little dark sounding.I'd like to keep the bridge cause it never goes out of tune but I'd like the new body to be,tonewise, a little brighter . What's my best choice of wood here? Thanks for any help. Aharon

Ok measured each side,6.5k. In series double that. The colors are red and white,sorry about the mistake. I did the screwdriver test and they seem to be out of phase with each other which is the way it should be right? So red/white taped together and the other two are hot and ground(plus shield). Did I get it right? Thanks Aharon

I could not find anything on HBs with 4 wires plus ground shield. There's one catch,the colors are two red/two black plus shield on each one. Am I correct to assume that series would be black/red together and the remaining red is hot and the shields + remaining black to ground?. Thanks for any info Aharon

I have a BCRich strat style platinum series guitar that plays well but the bridge sucks. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/liv_energy/d...1fe.jpg&.src=ph The bar does not fit properly,is too loose and it makes clanging noises when the guitar is plugged in and you handle the bar. Overall I don't think is too well made,intonation and tuning seems to be a problem. I have this one that I could install http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/liv_energy/d...63f.jpg&.src=ph but the pivoy screws are wider appart. So I was thinking of plugging the old ones with dowels and redrilling new holes for the new pivots etc. Maybe somebody more knowledgable can tell me if the change is worth it by looking at the bridges. I have collected about 15 pups over the years and I have them all in one box,what's the best way to store them to avoid possible problems like demagnetizing and or polarity changes etc? Thanks Aharon

I have a LADO Hawk (canadian made axe) that originally came with a single humbucker in the bridge position. One day I opened it and I found that the body had the routing for 2 SC and 1 HB. After installing them I find that the guitar is sort of dull or a little dark sounding and lacks snap. The bridge is a Khaler 2300 cam tremolo kinda deal with the wheel saddles and I wonder if that accounts for the dullness when using the SC pups,the HB sounds alright . I already changed the vol pot to 500K and the cap in the tone pot to a smaller one. What else can it be? What can I do to improve the tone? Thanks a lot Aharon

Thanks guys.It's a LADO strat copy.The neck measures 18" from the nut to the last fret and 25 1/2" to the bridge,21 frets. That's pretty standard I guess. I'll try Warmoth and see what they have and check back with you. Thanks again Aharon

I have a neck that I absolutely love,is fast,slick etc but the body it's attached to I kindda found out is laminate and the bridge is not so good. What do I need to know in order to buy a body with a neck cavity that fits dead on plus the scale lenght matches?. Thanks Aharon

Hi,I'm new to the forum and have a little problem with a Kahler. A friend gave me one of those Red Khaler locking floating bridges with the flip nut lock,it's great.One caveat,there's no pivot screws!,those are MIA. I was wondering if any of you know where to get a replacement knife(it can be unscrewed and it's not the regular knife edge but rather a slot)and/or the right pivots cause this thing looks like an improvement over anything I have on my guitars so I would like to install it. If you guys know please give me some tips. I could also have a machine shop make a knife and use regular screws but I thought I'd ask first. Thanks Aharon
