  1. Well, that depends on the scale length. I hope you're familiar with what that is....? ← i havnt decided completely what i want for the final guitar, but the one in the picturei s a 25" scale length neck
  2. hmm....longer eh... i definately dont want it to be a Baby-Dean size body, is that what it looks like to you guys? I think i'll try to scale it a bit bigger and just for the record, how far back should the bridge be from the nut? i just kinda randomly placed the bridge where it is so it might be making the body look smaller than it really is
  3. Doug here is gonna be making it (or at least thats the understanding we have at the moment) ← Do you mean Doug at Soulmate Guitars? If so, why not discuss this stuff with him, since he's the one who's gonna have to deal with it? I mean, we can tell you anything, but we don't have to translate it to wood. ← i'm just looking for suggestions visually i figured a collective opinion on the design might help a bit of course, when doug makes it i'm sure there will be on the fly construction-related changes, but thats a given
  4. well im not replacing the V headstock ill try smaller again. and see how it looks. i originally had to make it bigger to get a good symettry with the tuner placement but i'll see what i can do and how it turns out. thanks for the input.
  5. well i doubt whooever paints this thing will have any idea about guitars thats why i wanna know if i should spend the money and bring it to another luthier to prep it before bringing it to the paint shop
  6. Doug here is gonna be making it (or at least thats the understanding we have at the moment)
  7. Okay, after I get my planned guitar done and sent to me, my understanding is that it will be completely unfinished whats the next step i need to take before i take it to the paint/airbrush place?
  8. Any last alterations I should make before putting this to MDF and sending it off to Doug? Thanks, Mat also, I'm trying to name the thing Right now I'm torn between Jawbreaker and Sentinel whats better?
  9. i just pulled the 843 number outta thin air. it was still hundreds of inches my program was set to inches, so shouldnt it have resized itself accordingly? seriously. i copied and pasted one of theirs next to a 100% scale guitar i drew, and it was thousands of times bigger than mine.
  10. well now that im not gonna get an aural exciter what should i get? hmmmmmmmmmm
  11. yeah, i like the shape and i thought Wolfgang too but its too big for a wolfgang. its like a beefed up fatso wolfgang.
  12. note: guitarbuild.com's CAD plans are all completely out of scale. their guitars are like 843 feet long.
  13. well i already bought a BEE 411 off ebay for $20 i was recommended to get one of either from a friend of mine whos a guitar nut. he's pretty knowledgeable so i'm surprised you'd say the complete opposite as him :-S
  14. Between these, which brand makes a better product? or are they completely different sounding effects? Anyone with experience using either of these?
  15. i have a rack mounted HushII and it feels like the only thing it does is act as a volume knob
  16. well thats good news to me seeing as i do a lot of hi-gain metal for blues, everythings fine when clean so i'll just turn it off and let it all ring out. any brand suggestions though? just so i know where to start looking?
  17. whats a good noise gate to get then? i dont notice or mind it when im not playing. its mostly when im not playing, or when just playing simple non-chord material
  18. its a buzz, my mistake. my chain is guitar >> amp >> furman EQ >> speakers its not the EQ cuz i have the buzz w/o it but the eq does amplify it i'm guessing it has to do with my computer or bad wiring in my house from what you guys are telling me..
  19. well it does squeal, believe me! but yeah. if i turn my guitar to the right angle it will disappear, regardless of its proximity to my computer. this goes for any guitar i have. and its a peavey XXX
  20. no, this is on my regular guitars i turn the volume way down and im still getting a humm thats louder than the actual guitar output it probably has something to do with my gain/eq but i dont wanna eliminate the sound i worked so hard to dial in
  21. i just get maassssssive feedback. even when my guitars taken out of the same room as my amp....and wrapped in a blanket lol I just get it and it's driving me insane will a compressor/limiter (like a dbx) help me out? i already got a Rocktron HushII and that thing is just useless so will a limiter help? yes? no? noisegate? thanks
