....so dont you mean its not practical at all??
-
i think i may just shoot for this for my current project
i always wanted to try jumbo frets, but at the same time i knew i had to get thin ones cuz my fingers barely fit on the higher frets (and whats the point of getting a 24 fret neck if i cant use any of the extra?)
great idea bro

he also rejects the notion that he looks like Johnny Damon (in spite of me proving he does, albeit older)
-
go to the manufacturers website, the information for each model should be listed clear as day
-
yeah, its gotta feel great
i still cant decide on my final template for my V....ya, i know, im pathetic...
-
god....cant convince the guy
he just keeps saying its STAINED zebrawood
-

-
as long as its either rosewood or pau ferro that fine
i just needa win the argument cuz i hate this guy and he's acting so smart saying its zebrawood
-

heres a pic of an acoustic in IRW: http://www.hoffmanguitars.com/WOODS1-4.jpg
so i thought they matched up pretty well
doesnt pau ferro have too big of figuring between to be this? cuz this is pretty much dark and light parallel lining

For the sake of argument going on at the dean guitars forum.....what kinda wood is this?
I say Indian Rosewood (or a laminate thereof)
Another guy says Zebrawood
....a few others were way off saying it was ash
So yeah, you wood experts....what is this?
-
i think it would look good in trans-purple Myrtle
-
would it be practical to use gearless tuners (steinberger or lsr) on a floyded guitar? or is that just a waste of money seeing as floyds use fine tuners anyway
-
send me a pm
i can do this stuff with my eyes closed (you need a dean razorback body cad? )
-
thats what I'd do if I were you.... I like symetrical things....
thats just my friendly suggestion...
EDIT:oh yeah it would also then be a 3+3 head.....
looks too much like this

i need to know something: how long are the wings?
and how long is it from the neck heel to the crotch?

i think i'm just gonna go with what i have, after seeing the results of this pic i made. glad the size scare is over.

*silence*

You know man it may look better with A 6-inline headstock and change the cutouts on the side of the V
so basicly you want me to scrap the entire thing just buy a Jackson KV
-
Your drawing doesn't have any dimensions, so who knows? You probably should be discussing this with the guy that will be building it.
well the red one was the gibson V found on guitarbuild.com so i'm assuming its accurately dimensioned. i scaled it down in size cuz all of the cads on the site are out of wack, but scaled it down so the neck is the same length as mine...to give a rough understanding of the size.
what dimensions would you like to know? i can pull up lengths of any line on the things
-
Also you might have problems having the neck pickup where it should be, it's hard to tell but there isn't a whole lot of room on a regular v and being yours is smaller you might have a problem. Are you using a neck pickup? Good luck. J
no, i am not using a neck pickup
in the original drawings it looked like i had more than enough room
now that i printed the thing out and am comparing it to the CAD drawings of flying V's, it looks pint sized
so now im thinking....should i make the entire thing bigger?
