Im going to be painting my bass in the near future.

Most of my electronics are installed under a pickguard so there easily removed in 1 piece.

However, I have one (bridge) pickup actually mounted into the body itself.

Now Im assuming a wire will go through the body and up into the bottom of the pickup somehow.

My question is, Is there a certain place / way to take this pickup completely out?

I obviously want all the electronics back how they are currently so is there a certain way to cut the wire out so that its easier for (the pros) to re-wire up my pickup?

That way you can get better by staying in bed but also drool over the beautiful paintjob

I'd imagine it wouldnt be all too difficult to blend the colour in, there arnt too many differnet shades of black.

the body should be black, the "blade" should be a metal gray.  possibly with some blood red streaks on it (to simulate, um, blood).

I've looked through the tutorials etc on this site but sadly they dont seem to answer my question.

After all the colour(s) have been applied what should the last coat be to protect the paintwork/add a shine?

I want to fill in the space on my bass where the electronics and pickups where.

I was wondering what is the best material to use?

I've tried various kinds of filler but I need to fill in a hole about 15mm deep and about 200mm long so the filler just remains soft and wont set.

Any one of you know what I should use for this job?
