I just bought a Task force 41 piece spray gun kit from Lowes today.

Let me know if you guys think this is a dumb purchase, or if this should get the job done for mainly spraying nitrocellulose, and most likely other kinds of finishes i decide to do later on down the road. The compressor I have is an 8 Gallon, 2HP, 125psi unit, this should work with the kit according to my knowledge (let me know if im mistaken). Thanks in advance for your help!

the way i see it, if you went ahead and did it, you might learn a lot more about building. Nothing really bad can happen if you decide to build it, so i say go for it. Yeah, you might get a lot of people saying its a dumb idea and its not worth the trouble, but who cares. I say go for it, try doing some new things (I personally wouldnt spend alot of money on the whole project).

maybe try making some of the parts yourself out cheap things you find layin around, itll get you more experience as a builder, and it might possibly get you a guitar worth playing every once and a while.

Salvia is legal isnt it?

For the most part, I can't see it becoming illegal anytime soon though. You can't even function normally when you're 'tripping' on it.

Theres actually a group of people trying to get savlia listed as a scheduled drug due to the fact that it is in fact the world's most powerful hallucinogen. Ive heard of people smoking salvia and comparing it to a trip harder than mushrooms or even acid. The only difference is it only lasts around 10 minutes. Some people try it and feel nothing however. But the government is definately getting close to scheduling it, and due to the potency of it, it might possibly be schedule I (which means it would be illegal to sell, or posses it). I'll try to find the article I was reading that had this information in it, i googled it somewhere, maybe I can find it again and post the link.

I tried it, and i couldnt get it to work either, I remember posting the same topic as this after i read that tutorial over and over trying to figure out what i missed, bottom line, solder doesnt just "flow" into wood, im sure if you had a certain method to get this to work its possible, but all that happened to me is i melted it into the cavity and it beaded up into a ball. I cant recall anyone in this forum ever saying "yes i got the solder melting technique to work!"

I have a question, looking at your website at the close ups of the bridge on that acoustic-electric-electric bass the bridge looks original. Did you make the bridge/saddle yourself? or have i just not done enough searching?

mines a fork, and no it doesnt have that screw, i had it on my old reciever, but not on this one, but i just moved to college, and i didnt take the turntable

So im hooking up my record player and theres the like double horned prong (im guessing is a ground). I dont have a typical slot for it since modern-day recievers arent typicaly designed for record players. So my solution was to tape the ground to the bottom of the reciever. I figured that this was logical since I would imagine that the bottom of the reciever is grounded itself. Im listening to it right now, and the sound quality is fine (for an old record player). But I would just love for someone to say "omg, you idiot, pull it out now before you fry your reciever." Thanks in advance,

but speaking of points, how do you go about routing the bevels once you get to the points, do you just have wood the same thickness as the guitar to sit the router on? or is there some other method you use?

I actually am gettin around to widening the neck join area and figuring out where to put the pots andd everything. Im tryin to get autocad on this new computer and ill post an updated design when i get around to it

thanks for the advice, im still playin around with a few ideas and what not, a symetrical design is the next one im planning on drawing up actually. But im also sending these ideas to the guy im designing it for to see what he has to say.

there has recently been interest from this guitarist i know to build him a guitar, and hes in a metal band, so ive been playin around with designs in auto cad

I dont know if this is original or not, its definately inspired by a lot of stuff ive seen metal matt do (mainly the bevels) but i just wanna run it by you guys so i dont end up building it and saying "yeah thats already been made."

I saw one that was very similar on ebay sell for like 40 dollars, but you cant really trust that. This is more of a sentimental thing, it was my grandfather's grandmother's mandolin supposedly, so its been through quite a few generations.

Yeah, part of me wants to get it playable again though, im a firm believer in "an instrument is meant to be played." But also, I think I may have to repair the crack anyway, cuz if i put the strings on when i put it on display in a case, wont the force down on the top cause the crack to get bigger?

P.S. - these pictures are after I cleaned it a little, its hard to see the crack, but its there. Those white inlay dots were barely visible there was so much finger oil on them. oh yeah! and mickgaurd! the pickgaurd is pealing up a little bit in the corners!! !what do i do!
