I'm most the way through restoring some 1-star factory made (+abused over the years+) strat-replica guitar; being a southpaw, I've recut the body to my own personal design (at least, trimmed the horns) and bought some new pickups for the crummy old thing, and just finished repainting it. But what I need to know: it came with a basic modern strat-styled tremolo system and I'm ready to change my systems (my normal strat has a normal trem, but it's a highway 1 so I don't want to mess with it); just how much cutting (and in what places) will be neccessary to change this standard into a (preferably recessed, but open to 2-point floating) Floyd Rose?
I've looked over descriptions in things online... but they're all too impersonal for me to want to overly-risk an otherwise well-restored guitar.
Also, is there anyone with some pictures posted anywhere online of totally custom built (hand-built and designed) six- or seven-string with at least 2 pickups? I'd love to see them for some inspiration!
