  1. Hi, I think that inlaying wood into wood is called marquetry. A while back, in the prs private stock, they had a neat marqutry (usage??) of some guys playing baseball, but it was removed. If you search goole images for marquetry there is some amazing things, especially with dyed wood and shading etc. Good luck with your project.

  2. The thing that all of you are missing is that you are referencing acoustic guitars. Unless the poster started this topic in the wrong forum, then he was probably questioning about solidbody electrics. Using the acoustic examples is sort of weak, because as previously explained, the top is essentially the amplifer of an acoustic. Opposingly, i think wood will make a difference in solid bodies (but as previously stated) it will be very minute. Any way, please dont get mad at me, i think the way i wrote things may have came off cocky but it was really not meant to, in any way, offend anyone.

  3. I do not know if you read the post previously this week pertaining to veneers, But you should keep the glue to only what necessary especially on thin veneers. THe glues can soak through and creat problems wuth staining, if thats what youre going to do. Any way, it sounds like a cool project and i hope you get it under way and finished with out problems.

Edit: Sorry, i just noticed that i started with a dependant clause. Hmm... maybe i understand my english lessons when im not in school. :D

  4. THanks you guys so much for the help. I have looked through the forum and the mian page but I have not found a site that explains wiring swithches in detail, i only got min from a site that showed how to wire but not why. i would like to be able to figure out how to wire my own switches, so if you have any sites that explain it or if you can that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the help.

  5. Hi sambo, I wanted a kill switch to silence the whole guitar, but now loking at it that wouldnt work. How could I wire an on/on for the coil tapping, I dont really understand switches? Also what would just a straight kill switch be?

  6. Thanks lovekraft, its all in the planning stages, but I want to get started so bad I've been figuring all this stuff out now. I am limited with the cash flow, being 16, I need money for car insurance and im not working enough hours to begin with. Not to mention I need to buy tools cause my dad is the exact opposite of a handiman. well sorry for the rant, I'm tired.

  7. Hi, I am going to be putting a single coil and a humbucker into my project, and I just designed this schematic using guitarelectronics.com. It is supposed to have a 3 way toggle that selects either the single, the hum, or both (just like the standard Paul). But also I was thinking it might be nice to have the single coil tone but with hum canceling so I added the coil tap in there. First of all, does every thing check out, and also will it be humcanceling at all or would I have to change the phase on the tapped hum.
