i think i'll give Luthier Supplies a try, i think i've got thier catalouge lying about somewhere. i've never tried anything like this before so i'd better get practicing!

Hey folks, i'm planning on making an inlay for a guitar project i am working on. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the UK to get cheap inlay material to practice with?

Changed the string......and it's fine!! It was driving me nuts!

Yeah i've run out of space to adjust the string and it is still playing sharp at the 12th.

Any idea how i could solve this? will the neck need adjusted?

I'm posting this again as i stupidly posted it in the acoustic forum by mistake!

Hopefully someone will be able to help out with some trouble i am having with a bass guitar at the moment.

I'm trying to set up my friends washburn 4 string bass. But no matter what i do i cannot set the intonation on the E string. it sounds really badly out of tune when playing up the neck. I've tried to adjust it but the string is always playing sharp at the 12th.

The string is tuned dropped D, would this maybe be the cause of the trouble?

Or could it be a problem with the neck?

If anyone has any suggestions that i could try to sort this problem that would be great.
