  1. The reason the body is glued like it is because of the amount of wood that I had in the first place man. It was given as a gift and I did what I could with it. The upper horn is fine for the way I play and really doesn't get in the way once it's shaped with the neck in place. As for the other questions you got it right when you said beauty is in the eye of the beholder so you can just live with that. Thanks for being honest by the way
  2. That was me. Thanks man that looks great.
  3. Thanks man. The neck joint is actually a lot wider than it should be. I had to leave some room because it wasn't measured when i cut it. No worries about the "spalt" either because it's actually really hard, at least to cut through, and the body is two 1in. peices thick and that will be routed out into the bottom peice that is good.
  4. I thought it might be cool to show you guys what I've been working on. This is my first project and I'm still getting all of the parts ordered for it. Basicly I was messing around at school one day drawing guitars and such and the idea of actually making one really hit me. So after school got out I went out to my friends shop and started drawing out the design on some old pine and ended up making the complete guitar out of pine in a couple of days. Recently a friends father gave me a load of black walnut because he liked the idea so much, so here are some pics of what I have done so far/// I like the way it looks with maple so I'm going to do the neck and fretboard out of curly maple with a black walnut headstock laminate. /////
  5. Yeah I've got the same question about what finnish to use on walnut. I got a good bit of black walnut in a similar way that you got yours. I think I've decided to go with a french polish though because it supposed to allow the best sound. Here's some pics.
  6. Okay, one more question. The humbuckers both have 3 wires each. I'm guessing one ground and one wire for each coil? One wire is red and the other is white. Should both of these be wired to the same place on the switch?
  7. I appreciate this a lot man. I hope this is usefull for a lot of guys, but then again I guess it is a pretty rare setup, it just fits my personal needs perfectly. Thanks again. Oh and by the way, Texas is definitly the greatest place in the world! Jason
  8. Thanks man! I'll see how it turns out. What is a midrange control?
  9. How about 1 volume and 3 tone? I never really change the volume and I always change the tone.
  10. Thanks man. I plan to use 2 tone and 2 volume, all 500k.
  11. Basicly I don't have room for a 5-way so I am using a 3-way sg style switch. I want to do a H/S/H setup but i can't seem to find a diagram for it. I'm not to familiar with electronics stuff so I can't really figure it out on my own. Is this possible? I'd like to have it so each position is a different pickup. I have a 2 wire strat pickup and 2 3-wire humbuckers. Thanks\\
  12. It's the real deal man. It's like the difference between a pre CBS Fender and a brand new top of the line Strat. It's more than physical parts man, it's the vibe that comes with it, and it’s that feeling that tells you there's no other like it in the world. It's what tells you if it's yours or not. That amp is irreplaceable and no one can replicate the history that comes with that it. Just sayin.
