Cheap because looking at the picture, not that it's that brilliant, i'd say it's not a US made one - TOM bridge and small headstock logo are the instant things i picked up on. They re-introduced the Scarab some 18 months ago under the Slammer series and they're made in Korea, they play alright BUT they ain't like the originals - believe me i've used NOTHING but US Hamers for over twenty years.

Who cares dude? I didn't list it as a US Hamer.. If it was a US Hamer I would have listed it as a US Hamer which I didn't.. I started it at 75 bucks.. Because it's an import.. By the way they're not made in korea, and there not the Slammer series.. It's a chinese made model and the series is XT..
What's that thing they taught us all in kindergarten. "If you don't have anything nice to say"
This isn't a let's debate over the country of origin or what you prefer to play thread.. It's the classifieds thread which was what I listed it here for. If you have a question about the item I will be more than happy to answer it.. If you want to rag on it then please keep it to yourself.

Very cool. But I would also paint something on the fingerbaord. I think that would be cool.
y'know that's a really good idea. I might just do that.

This guitar sucks.. it's one of those first act POS models you can get at WAL MART..
I traded someone a painting for it.. It'll need some tweaking but I think I can make a decent guitar out of it to cover "cum on feel the noise" on..
This is just a quick PhotoShop mock up of the proposed paint job and new headstock decal..
What do you guys think?

Thanks all.. no sound clips but I might put a few up when I get it wired up.
Great Paint on that other EVH Algee Eater.

I searched for the old topic but I couldn't find it. So sorry to the mods.
My plan was to make an upside down RR copy with 2 Humbuckers an on and off switch, and no knobs. That has changed a little bit. It's going to be 2 HB, and one single coil. Each pickup will have an on and off switch (these switches will be placed out of the way on the side)and a master switch (placed by the knobs like an SG) and 4 volume knobs (each pickup plus one master volume), these knobs will be placed on the top like a LP or SG would have them. The guitar is going to have a mahogany body with a flame maple veneer dyed blood red with back sides and back. A maple/purpleheart laminate will be what the neck is made out of, with a rosewood fingerboard (24 3/4" scale) with a guitar pick inlayed across the 11th, 12th, and 13th fret and white side markers. The bridge will be a black TOM wraparound tailpeice. I'm not sure about strap buttons yet. The neck will be bolt on.
thats the virtual pic of it. (crappy imitation of the pick inlay)
heres the body about a third through the sanding of the edges. I never knew it took this long to get it flush and even.

heres the pics of the wood for the neck, and the pre slotted fingerboard from stewmac:

any suggestions, comments, questions etc. are welcome.
That's cool.. I used to have a hondo that was a reverse Randy V. Had a Kahler and grovers on it I think, with a white finish and black pinstripes.

Does anyone know what the US Tele was called that was bright orange from the factory? Like as in what series that is was?
-
I'm restoring a tele for a dude at work.. It's a california, or californian USA telecaster but word on the street is that there was also something called a california "fat" or something like that.. I need to know what type of pickup the original bridge pickup was.. Can anyone help me here?

Ok, I gotta get outta here right now but this is what I came up with so far.. I drew this up in paint and photoshop.. Opinions anyone?

anyone have this or know where to get it? it's prolly a late 80s or early 90s model.. The Ibanez site doesn't have the wiring diagrams go back that far.. I did a refinish and break repair for a guy but electronics aren't my greatest talent.. Can anyone help my with this? It has a 3 way selector switch, plus one single coil, 1 humbucker, and a volume and tone knob.

Resin Jfrog Skull N Bones Repro Body..
in In Progress and Finished Work
Posted
I've cast resin action figures in the past and had nice results.. Of course a guitar is a whole different thing with sustain issues and such but then I thought "BC Rich, Ampeg, and many other guitars have Acrylic (resin) models".. A real JFROG is out of reach for most people listing around 5 grand.. Even the ESP model can go for 2 to 3.. SO, I wonder.. Would there be any interest, comments, or suggestions for a JFROG lynch repro.. I have the means to do it, but the molding material would put a nice size dent in my wallet. The body would be the only resin part.. Real Floyd, Seymour Duncan black back and maple/rosewood neck with the hockey stick headstock.
Anyone?
For those unfamiliar here's the guitar I'm talking about
and though it's not a guitar.. here's some stuff I've cast
