  1. The showmaster body is half finished. It had a white finish with black floral pattern (some may of seen it on the finishing board) but i now begun stripping it back to wood.

It has a monkey grip routed in the body and with some time, could resemble a half decent JEM

    Its a Basswood body.

The Neck is in quite bad condition but with some loving care it will be ok. The nut is off center and will require cutting out and refitting. The back of the neck is half finished, (same story as body). However the headstock has a real bad job of cutting it. Its like an arrow but not even straight

Although the bad work, it is stable and could be strung with in my opinion no worries.

The neck comes with 6 tuners and the Body comes with electronics and bridge.

Post in this thread if your interested in anything and im sure we can sort something out

Open to anything, Cash prefered however if a trade comes up im willing to look. (Trades for guitars/rack units/Studio equip)

  2. Just a suggestion mate, You will get a far better sound if your recording guitar by using a microphone infronta the cab as apposed to D.I

D.I is fine for bass most of the time however with guitar i feel that with using a DI technique, you loose some of that "natural" sound

Just my suggestion any way :D

  3. Hey again guys!

Forgot to ask whilst i was defending the right to use pink tolex ( :D ), Have any of you guys got some simple plans or dimensions you could post up so i can have a ruff idea?

Ive actually decided to see if i can get this built BEFORE the gigs start!

    ~~ TS ~~

  4. +1 build build build! Cabinet-grade birch plywood + black elephant tolex would be my choice.

If you choose the pink tolex... well, I hope you're "really happy" with it.

Didnt see this bit originally :|

Im at college currently, so im going to have a word with the woodwork dept' and see if theyve got anything i can use. Also that way i can steal all there equipment to build it with :D

    Cheers guys!

    ~~ TS ~~

And yes ill be happy with the PINK tolex :D

  5. lol time is the only thing, however all the gigs weve been booked for so far have got there own live system so they will be mic;in up my 2x12transfex anyway

So no rush for me to build this up, definitly a project to get done over the summer though :D

  6. Now usually id agree and say celestions all the way since i also like the tone of celestions in amps however...

The "Sheffield" speakers in this transfex sounds really nice, warm and responsive. They handle the power and bass of the amp really well without it sounding muddy overall im really happy with it.

The only real reason im considering a 2x12 or possible 4x12 is the sound of a closed back amp. Not the lack of sound from the peavey since i like the sound of it already :D

  7. :D

    2x12 it is lol! :D

I gig fairly often (as some of you know) and have a string of gigs in june/july... n now i think about it, the prospect of luggin a 4x12 isnt to appealing so 2x12 it is

Id rather not build one (although will if it comes to it), but for now, does anyone have some links to some 2x12 cabs? (UK)

Cheers so far for all your help guys!

  8. Hey guys!

Yea SPL - Sound pressure level hehe my Music Technology A levels kinda get drilled into your head :D

Although its a Transfex, as far as im aware there are NO physically tubes in there, just uses "transtube" technology (Peaveys answer to tubes?)

However there is a rather mean looking heatsink system hanging down in the back of the cab and vents along the top so heat must be an issue origanally

So hows plan B sound, Use this as a head unit and buy myself a nice 2x12 closed cab to run from this so i get a true 2x12 closed back sound?

    Should i opt for 4x12?

  9. Ok just wondering, am i able to just fit some wood in the space where the open back starts to make it close back or is SPL an issue?

I ask since the last amp and my current amp have both been open back yet i also like the sound of close back amps.

Any ideas then guys? i just dont wanna attach the wood for it to cause damage or something because of SPL, perhaps some vents in the back might work?

  10. Yeh these guys are right.

Brian is very busy and sometimes it can take a little while for statuses to change etc. Just be patient and sit tight buddy, im sure itll get sorted a.s.a.p

He is a very cool guy and i cant see him EVER Screwing anyone over on these boards or infact anywhere :D

  11. I tried to be nice and I at least sent him a PM containing apology for what I said and I also forgave him for what he said about me without him even asking me for forgivness and I agreed that he should be let off vacation early but this is all I got in return.

So I tried to be nice and all I got was a condecending PM. And Setch since I read your PM I agree that I shouldn't of called him an idiot in the post #4 but I think that it doesn't make it OK for Verhoevenc to call me scum. At least I tried to make amends and at least I tried to be nice and forgiving but I guess he just won't be as forgiving as I was.

I guess that I must not be welcome here.

Dude your welcome here just as he is.

You CANT get on with everyone, its just impossible with the so many varities of music n ideas on these boards. Its that very reason i LOVE posting on here!

just forget about whats happened n get on reading and posting, thats what PG is about. If you really cant deal with it just block him and carry on. :D
