Hey guys
Ive searched all over for a thread about tiger eye staining that i was sure was here a while back
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Regards
dayvo
I have never done a tiger eye stain, but I've always thought you first stain the wood dark brown, then sand back the stain so it's only in the deep spots of the figure, then stain over that with whatever shade of amber you want. This could be way off, but that is how I would try it.
Thanks Marcovis
This is not the one I remember, but it is of help

Heres a link to the Neck Jig build tutorial

My vote went to oz tradie
Not only a fantastic first build, but also highlights some of our beautiful
native timbers
By the way Ledz, I not only work for but am a big fan of Holdens
(part of the General Motors stable here in Oz)
So for me F.O.R.D. stands for - Found On Rubbish Dump

I found this on another forum
Something a little different
A Strat with a clockwork themed scratchplate
It really sets the guitar off

Not sure if it's the same one, but it's the same fixture nonetheless.

It is by Matt Vinson.
The Rapidshare link dosn't work, try this one

Hey metalwarrior and RGman
Apart from Ottos (where I got all my timber from) there is also this guy up at Hahndorf
Ive been and had a look. He's got a lot of aussie timbers and a lot of unusual stuff from New Guinea
I love the fretboard. Looks like its going to be a great looking guitar overall
Which part of Adelaide do you guys hail from?

I like it

I built one last year and it looks similar to Soapbarstrats
In all it cost me $24AUD to make
I got the parts from a local hardware store, auto parts supplier and the handle (which believe it or not was the hardest part to source) from a caravan spare parts supplier
Oh, and it works a treat

Sounds great
A while back you mentioned that you had been approached by a larger company to manufacture guitars for them
Are you gearing up to do this or are you staying with your own brand? or both? and are you planning to get your guitars into local (national) retailers?
Looking forward to seeing more of your product put there
Good Luck

OK, for those of you that have done builds using TOM bridges, where do you normally connect the grounding wire?
At the bottom of the post, or ????.
This is my first wiring job

Removing Water Based Analine Dye
in Inlays and Finishing Chat
Posted
Hey all
I stained my guitar the other day but Im not happy with the colour
(yes I did test on scrap beforehand but it seems to have come out slightly different on my guitar)
So does anyone know how to remove the dye completely?
For reference the dye colour is yellow
