wow thats a good lookin bass and I REALLY like the green fiber optics.
Keep up the good work
-
that is the most Evilly cool metal guitar finish ever
-
I got A boss DS-1 and it's awesome for vintage punk and some mainstream rock
.....however I can't make it sound heavy so I can't play anything heavy
-
Tiger eye looks good
Might I recommend scalloping those horns, I think that would do a lot.
-
that is killer...... in more ways than one I can't wait to see it finished
Shred on Matt

I was thinking of either doing a laminate neck and finishing it in natural, or a single peice neck and paint the whole thing white and do a EVH style thing on the front and headstock with black and red stripes.
Either way I'll do CF rods.
I'm gonna do a maple neck with alder wings. I like nice bright guitars. I'll probably re-use all the electronics and parts from the first guitar I did to save some money. Because that thing is well...er...far from perfect
Just remember thats to thin a guitar to use with a floyd rose (I think the min thickness is 1.75")
-
Are you gonna scallop the horns like a PRS?
interesting wood dude
-
that thing BlOWS MY MIND that is the sickest V I've ever seen! what kind of Pickups are goin in?
WOW
rock on Matt

Maybe it's just me but I smell some serious sarcasm in feylye's title.....
Not my style at all. It reminds me of a car fin from the 50's......maybe that's the look he was after
And ratty car fin at that
and more proof that it's not always a great idea to reinvent the wheel
-
Heyyyyyyy....what if on that SG you did red grain filler just where the flame design is?!!!
then stained the rest of the wood a different color that would be crazy!
-
Nice design Maybe try some bevels on the small points to make it look even sharper
But bevels or not THATS SICK

Wow!
It looks like some sort of poisonous plant! Like something you'd need to wash your hands after playing...
Very cool man, I like the shapes on the headstock.

It reminds me of a jester's hat, and makes me think of The Joker from Batman. That is to say, I like it.
EDIT: Wow. Idch beat me to it.
Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...
Yeah kinda maybe if I painted it half black and half white........

nothing really to add but and in my own words... "Whoa! Thats mad!!!" and getting to them upper frets seems almost impossible. but top marks for orginality!!!
T
upper fret access is a little worse than on larger uncut acoustics (still kinda playable)
-
really cool. How does it play? the upper fret access seems restricted, but it still looks like something very cool to play on, that headstock REALLY works with that bodyshape.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH it's finally done. I'll post pictures soon the shape is rather hard to describe.
The body is Madrona wood that my dad and I milled from a root ball. the neck is from warmoth (maple with ebony fretboard) with my own crazy head stock.
As far as hardware goes It has 2 EMG humbuckers (81 & 85) with 1 tone & 1 volume, A tonepro tune-o-matic, with sperzel tuners.
I'll post pretty soon
-
never mind my neck came In time
SOON IT WILL BE FINISHED AND I WILL SHRED UNTIL THE END OF TIME
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

I was originally going to use a floyd rose original tremelo but the guitar body has a monstor crack across the body right where the trem hole would, be making the body pretty weak. So I'm ordering a Tonepro tunamatic bridge instead to avoid the crack as much as possible (Even though I'm fixiing the crack anyway).
Is it possible to use a floyd locking nut with the tonepro cuz my neck is all ready preped for one (Warmoth neck)
Just being paranoid and making sure
-
Do you have the neck pocket routed yet?
If not, you COULD place the bridge and the pickups and just take into account how far out the nut needs to be, but the risks of being off by even a 1/4 inch are very great.
If it's a Strat-style neck from Warmoth with a 25.5 inch scale length, then the nut has to be 25.25 from the bridge to allow for intonation adjustment.
Sounds like you'll need to use that big squash between your ears and those two balls between your legs and just do it right the first time. Procrastination is a jealous mistress that will not hesitate to call you in the middle of dinner with your wife and kids.
Good idea I'll give that a try. I'll figure something out
-
It is for school but I'll try to get the necks dimensions from Warmoth, that may work
AS For Pictures, How do I post them??
-
I am supposed to finish building my guitar by the end of next week and have the body pickups and bridge but the neck I ordered Won't be here in time for my deadline.
The Problem is I don't know how to find the scale length without the neck,
Does anyone now if this is at all possible? If so PLEASE help me
Volume Pot Buzz
in Electronics Chat
Posted
I have an epiphone les paul special a simple 2 humbucker guitar with one tone and one volume that has been buzzing for a while now and I CAN't fix it.
the buzz ends when i touch the volume knob or when i palm mute the strings anywhere along the neck.
Any thoughts on what the problem might be???
