  1. ah the birth of yet another tweaker of guitars...

on to your question. the 3 springs on the back side of your guitar are indeed tension springs for the trem. it really depends on the player how tight or loose he likes them. you basicly just need enough tension to hold the trem flat against the body, so your action is as low as you like it. i like to have 3 springs all straight across, parallel to one another. if you never use the trem, you could even put all five springs in, and tighten it down, and it's pretty much like a stop tail.

as far as the screws, i think they should be as staight as possible. i guess it could effect the motion of the bridge bu i doubt it would be noticable.

it's all what you're into. rock on dude. :D

  3. thanx for all of the input. i want to do a black and yellow strie like on the VH2 album cover. what shade of yellow did wayne charvel use, it's kind of mustardy. it looks great. i've seen a few where the yellow is all wrong.

also what is the best brand/type of paint to use, i'v heard automotive is good, but requires a ton of primer.

    thanx guys, you rock :D

  4. hello

i was wondering how i would go about candy striping my wolfgang. i really like the look, but i don't know how to get it all flat and smooth. any inf would be awesome. i did one one time and it is noticable where i had the masking tape, and when i sanded it, i wore through the top layer of paint.

    thanx.

  6. :D hello, i just discovered this wonderful place on the web. i have an '88 jem 77fp, a '98 wolfgang special custom, i added a tone pot, a coil tap and a treble bleed cap on the vol pot. i also have a strat with a dimarzio fred, and a paf in it, it is my guinie pig for all of my wacky wiring ideas. i am a big fan of solid body electrics, especialy jems and wolfgangs. i am also very into different types of wiring mods, i'm an electrician, so it is neet to mess with things to suit my needs.

i'm into all types of music. steve vai is my favorite player, fallowed by petrucci, van halen, satriani, and paul gilbert.

    nice to meet you all.
