  1. those links dont work for me, i think they only work for the person who did the search, could you list the names of those books?

EDIT for some reason these links don't work for me but the ones in the other ones do

  2. 4th dimension: (are you ready for this?)... some would argue Tetraspace(don't ask), but it's most commonly accepted as time

so in otherwords, a CNC machine without the 4th dimension (time) wouldn't work? well in THAT case theres ALOT of CNC's being advertised that don't MOVE :D

  3. if you're cutting straight edges a skill saw will work if you reverse the blade..if you don't it will grab and you could be seriously hurt.  if you're cutting curves then follow the advice above about a jig saw with a metal cutting blade or a band saw.  whatever you do be sure to use goggles..metal shavings in the eye are a pain in the ass...so to speak. :D

by the way, if you use a jig saw invest in a can of spray adhesive and temporarily mount your aluminum to a piece of 1/4" plywood and you'll get a much better cut.

spray adhesive to mount it on plywood, thanks thats a good idea!

(why havent i thought of using a jig saw for this before???)

ps metal shavings in the eye ARE a pain in the ass because you cant see the metal shaving causing the pain to your ass, believe me i speak from experience

  4. I'm pretty sure what was posted before was just micro plane sandpaper, same stuff but for orbital sanders as opposed to this drill press outfit. I'll definitely pick up this and the robo-sander as i'm curious how they would compare.

EDIT: wow i didnt know you could get microplane rasps! how did you find them compared to conventional rasps?

  5. a jigsaw with a blade designed for steels worked well for me (3mm checkerplate) it is reasonably fast aswell.but make sure you get the right blade for your metal and you'll need to clamp it down or have somebody stand on it (its faster to move a person than loosen and retighten a clamp or two)

hey i never even thought of using a jigsaw for metal before, thanks man!

  6. they are sold way over price there because of the hysteria that they are no longer available and *COULD* become collectible.

i heard about that! the guy at the local music shop collects those guitars and he heard about the fight that evh had with peavey, it apparently had something to do with putting singlecoils in wolfgangs or whatever. so the guy at my shop called the custom guy who made that guitar for evh with those pickups, told him to finish the guitar and send it to him, i saw it at the store its pretty neat

  7. i think i'll go for it and build that pin router, but i'll make some changes to it, like maiden 69 said there is alot of bracing equipment that could be used, even just parts from home hardware that you can modify, i'm sure you could definitly get away with having some of the parts made of wood, just reinforce them with metal
