  1. You want no less than 3/32" extra space on the outsides of E and e strings.  If thats possible then go ahead and carve down the jumbo.  Another option, for a right-handed nut that is initially too high, is to cut the top bevel down to the bottom of the slots and then recut the slots the other way, making it left handed.  This will kill 2 birds with one stone.  :D

Try doing some forum searches about shaping/slotting nuts and you will get some alternate perspectives.

Ya, i got a graphtech trem nut a while ago to put on my project and the string spacing was too big, it was way too tall, etc etc. So i just filed it down past the slots and redid it.basically i turned it into a blank nut ahaha. I should've measured before i bought, oh well, leson learned.

  2. PLus those other variations of the explorer are for sizzies!

Do you mean all variations or just the ones Cud posted, becaue I remember a while back you made a nice little kelly (it was nuckin futs), im just joking ya.

I say do the explorer or ML but I personally don't really like the 2 others you posted, the rounded edge doesn't look as stylish. :D

    Good luck.

  3. What kind of metal?

NWOBHM- Full Shred or Dimarzio Super Distortion

80's Thrash- Duncan JB, Duncan Custom, Custom Custom or Custom 5, Dimarzio X2n or Megadrive

Hair metal- Screamin Demon, Paf pro, Evo, or Alnico Pro II

Nu Metal- Lots of Dimarzios(drop sonic, distortion, steves special), dimebucker, invader

  4. My current amp is a 1 channel pos solid state ampeg and somethings probably broken with it but I have no desire to fix it with a new amp in the mail. I use a distortion pedal all the time with it and just roll down the volume knob and it cleans up as soon as i take it down to about 75%. Its that easy.

  5. I see you front routed the control cavities, so does that mean this is going into pickguard territory because I love guitars with pickguards but i don't know how well it will fit into this design. I really like the outline shape though, but i definately woulda floyded it and put some humbuckers. but thats just the fact that im a 16 year old pimply faced metal head like idch said would like that design :D

  6. Well i know on some peavey amps like the 5150(oops, 6505 :D ), the XXX, the JSX and the XXL they have a switch on the back that selects either 25,50 or 100Ws but 25 is still more than enough.

With things going to Europe the manufacturers do have to put up with shipping, customs, duties etc. but I agree that in most cases the markup is too great, but I have to deal with paying $32 for an In Flames cd because they don't have a North American distributor, go figure :D

  7. You're havin quite the problem with this amp eh? Finding a small amp is a tricky buisness, thats why for my new one thats on the way i had to go for 45 watts! Yikes! It was cheap though and its all tube so I can deal, I just need to get some major ear protection now :D. What other amps are even in the 10 watt range?
