They want you to fork out $75 for what appears to be two meat tenderizers taped to scissors (obviously an exaggeration. Haha).
Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to widen the fret tang to fit them into larger fret slots? Primarily for refretting, where the old slot winds up being slightly larger.
Thanks!
I bought one several years ago, when the expander and crusher were two separate tools, and never regretted it. I made the crusher out of a pair of pliers.
Stewmac's "forever return" policy, is worth something.

A pair of these, available where you get stained glass supplies.

I live in an apartment building and there are building dumpsters and recycling bins. Not too long ago, I went down to the recycle dumpster to drop off a load of garbage and lo and behold. What lay on top of a stack of cardboard was what looked like a guitar. I picked it up and sure enough it was an acoustic. I read the label "Yamaha Fg-150". Since I am an electric bassist, I had no clue. I examined it and determined that aside from a lot of dust, some finish scratches and knicks here and there, it is in sound condition.
Now for the big obvious dumb question....
What should I do with it? I mean, sand it down, add filler, re finish or keep its road worn charm?
FG-150 are REAL good guitars, bringing in some $ on ebay. VERY likely that it will need a neck reset, if the action's high/saddle low. You are one lucky ---!

I've used a slightly reground toenail clippers since 1976, when I learned of it from its inventor, Paul Dwyer, who then ran the refurb dept. at At. Louis Music Supply. I've never found anything to work as well as this.

I have seen some bridges where you have 2 strings per bridge pin, but you'd have to notch the saddle to get the strings to stay put.
I've been thinking about a 6 pin bridge, with pieces of brass rod in front of the pins, to separate the strings.
