If it is a liscened floyd than the best and only thing i would do is to put a original floyd in to it, but make sure the dimensions are the same if you do.
And about the springs, it really doesnt matter that much except if it is not floating parrallel to the body than you many need to add or remove a spring.

I would have to agree, the schaller is not going to do anything better than the tonepros

I am not sure exactly what brand it was, but i let it dry for about 4 months before i put the guitar together to make sure it was dry. I think it was some form of automotive clear laquer.

I recently finished a custom body witha redish pinkish stain on a maple body. I put about 10 layers of clear lacquer on it and let dry for quite some time, but it now scratches very easily, i can take a guitar pick and scratch of the clear coats.
What kind of clear paint/lacquer can I use that will be relatively cheap?
Or could I have screwed up some where else?

I have been wanting to start on my 5th build and I am really in to dream theater and like the way that Petrucci's guitar looks like.
However, I want it to be a little more original and have some other ideas involved. I would appreciate it if I could get some ideas for the guitar.
Thanks
