Nice semi hemi work! You do this after you install the wire? I would love to hear about your technique.
-
That's a really nice guitar. I'm really glad I followed this build.

That shade of blue is incredible. Almost sapphire. Wich color will the hardware be?

A trick long used to install string-thru ferrules is puhing them with a soldering iron. The heat softens the clear preventing cracks.
-
I would suggest to countersink those ferrules or at least sanding them completely flush.
-
AH... much better.
-
The only thing I hate is that facial hair is already growing in the second (amber) one.
-
I feel you man, whenever I work on the shop (no A/C) I drip all over the place, my son sometimes help and he can't get over it and leaves. ha, ha,
-
What method (brush, rag) do you use to apply the C/A ?
-
Okay...router time
Marked out and double checked the look of things
Used my super sophisticated template angling system for neck angles
After the neck pocket I took out the tilting part and did the rest.Neck pocket is 3/4" deep and angled, everything else is straight and 1" deep. Then I cut the body out and shaped it with the spindle and belt sanders
I could only do one and now I am exhausted. The bandsaw did nick the neck pocket a bit and now I have to disappear it.
Wes, we all know it was you, don't blame the bandsaw.....

looking good, try to feather that burst a little bit more and you're golden.

- I got it al clamped up at the 16th and it got tighter. I took it a part now but will post pics soon. Can I use super clue on this smaller space once it is glue in?
If you're going that route, I'd advise you against Cyanoacrylate ( if that's what you meant), try to make a shim with a sliver of maple and use titebond or equivalent.

Ha,ha,....We're not getting any younger...
Thanks I new the 17th didn't quite sound right. (DamnOld Age)The joint should be at the 16th fret so, no way that gap is going to close. As mentioned by Chris, call the supplier and try to work something out.

Your frets will not seat properly, that will lead to intonation and sustain issues. Scrap vote here.

Beautiful.

Looking good!! Nice finish, and yes, rings could be refined some more.

How do you like that Carruth scraper? Better than a normal (thin) one?
-
If you're careful you can remove and reglue that board, it's been done thousands of times in repair shops.

So, what is your veredict on the flap disk? I love it to death, no matter what I'm working on, wood or metal.
It's not a "miracle" or anything - it did cut out a bit of the work, but made some in another way, hense it was hard to keep from diggin in sometimes and hard to get a smooth surface.
Maybe I just more practice using it.
I'm sure once you get used to it you'll never use anything else.

Nothing to report but I have a question to ask the forum. Do you need a special 3 way toggle switch when using EMG's. I'm using EMG 81 bridge 85 neck 1 vol 1 tone and a 3 way toggle.
Can I use a standard Gibson type toggle switch?
Thanks
Toggle is standard
pots should be 25k
outputjack should be stereo for switching battery on

I like how it looks now. Not a fan of high gloss. Either way I'm sure it will look awesome at the end.
