  1. I highly reccomend two amps...the Peavey JSX and the Engl Powerball...both have great tone and are very versatile, but the Engl is more expensive..yet it is slightly more transparent...

in the $1000 or so pricerange, nothing rocks as hard as the JSX...bang for the buck, baby!

I've got a XXX with EL34's (very close to the JSX)

3 Channel. Versatile. Great clean channel for a big tuber :D :D

  2. Usually Sapele is darker than African Mahogany ...

I can confirm that sapele has a LOT of bottom end.

    Mmm. Sounds yummy :D

That's fine if you like big bottoms :D

I like big butts and I can not lie. You other brothers can't deny that when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face you get sprung. Wanna pull out your tough 'cause you notice that butt was stuffed deep in the jeans she's wearing. I'm hooked and I can't stop staring. Oh baby, I wanna get wit 'cha and take your picture. My homeboys tried to warn me, but that butt you got makes me so horny. Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin, you say you wanna get in my Benz? Well, use me, use me, 'cause you ain't that average groupie. I've seen them dancin'. To hell with romancin'. She's sweat, wet, got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette. I'm tired of magazines sayin' flat butts are the thing. Take the average black man and ask him that she gotta pack much back. So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!) Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!) Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!) Shake that healthy butt! Baby got back! (LA face with Oakland booty)

Hahaha. What the average price / bf for Sapele. I've been to a couple of websites and it seems to be all over the place.

  3. Ok, same topic but different scenario. That 'Slinger is still red and am hoping to sell it soon to fund my next build :D

HOWEVER, I am currently working on a RR-V build that had a previous finish. I got pretty much all of the back and the front sanded off with my power sander and some 100 grit paper.

But its got bevels and I'd rather use a stripper for those and the trem cavity.

    Southpa mentioned "Circa 1850"

Anyone else wanna recommend a good stripper? It's got a poly finish, and it's pretty thick, so it'll need to be strong!

  4. Definitely meant to type *wood*. Lol

Wow, that sounds great. Kinda like a mix between Mahogany and basswood.

    What's the average price?

These babys start at 1000 euro, Simply because there is so much work involved in carving the whole thing as 01 chunk. Depending on the pickups & timbers it can go up from there. PM me for more info. Or get me thru this link http://www.aeolianguitars.com/contact.html

No, I meant for the wood. Whats the average price for 8/4 bf?

  5. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...&hl=soapbox

I did one from molding-grade pine very recently. It sounds great and was super-easy to work with. The drawback is that it's really soft and every little bump or scratch is really exaggerated.

    Bright? Dark? Middy?

    Kinda warm, but not dull.

Full bottom with some definition left on top.

    Just like my wife. B)

    Hahahahaha :D:D

    ..........................................................................

You could put a thin hardwood on the back and top, to protect it a bit better.

  6. ould I use this "clone" for a year without substantial wear?

    No. No. And no.

I bought a Jackson Dinky a while back. It had a cheap licensed floyd. I seriously could play 5 chords

or one arpeggio before the bitch went out of tune.

It drove me f'ing nuts. Sold it.

Then I bought a Gunslinger with an OFR, and it NEVER goes out of tune.

I will say, that my friend replaced his cheap licensed crap floyd that was on his LTD with a Mighty Mite floyd,

and that thing stays in tune perfectly.

I abused the crap out of it one day at practice and it held up awesome. Only $80 *installed*.

The GFS floyd are apparently made out of steel and brass. If that's the case, they should stay in perfect tune also.

Cheap knockoffs are shitty b/c they are made out of potmetal.
