  1. Here is the question.

I have a old Charvel body that should have a 22 fret neck on it. 25.5 Scale guitar I'm talking here. I found a 24 fret Jackson neck that I would like to use in the same scale, but I am wondering if the 24 fret neck would need a deeper pocket into the body.

Simple, would a 24 fret neck replace the 22 fret neck if it is the same scale with no issues?

    Thanks in advance!!!

It may or may not be wider at the 24th fret. The biggest issue is making a longer pocket so you dont have to move the bridge. May also hit a pickup?

The neck fret spacing is the only thing that makes a difference with scale lenght and at what point the nut starts and bridge ends. You could use a different scale as long as these points line up to the correct distance. Honestly may people bring up using a longer neck and realize the additional work makes it a big project. You either move the bridge or adjust the neck pocket.

    This is what I thought.

    Thank you!
