  1. does anyone know where can i find multiscale guitar's bridge or individual saddles???? i cannot find anywhere!!
  2. my first trial with second way had a problem...pores (in maple??) were stained black and showed something not good.. i used water based stain.should i used different stain? should i first seal the whole thing???
  3. i am in the stage of finishing my burl maple top...Would you suggest this order? a)gab epoxy filling 2)double staining 3)sealer spraying ?? or a)double staining b)gab epoxy filling 3)sealer spraying??? my wood is from Fraser valley ,something like this http://www.fine-woods.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/2100//2225-1.jpg ps:would you suggest staining or not this wood???
  4. you are absolutely right, but i believe that hearing people having gone to one "wrong" way can help you avoid it...Just for it..Of course i make guitars .My curent project is a Tele with a Cedar of LEbanon (over 250 years old),old mulberry neck and wenge fretboard.I am in the stage of finishing.BUt i have not played with others to gain experience and see the difference..... so,can you tell me your opinion from experience if the woods itself play rolle in the tone???
  5. basswood is both soft and strong to keep screws due to it's structure.Pine's is softer... anyway i cannot abort this question which is very common i think..Please forgive me if i repea tmyself.. DO WOODS PLAY ROLE IN THE TONE OF ELECTRIC INTSTUMENTS??? i cannot accept this price for a pine and for alder...(ok,they choosed the best wood but there is a huge difference) how can we prove if the answer is YES???please suggeest an experiment to see with my own eyes and ears...if there is!

  7. i dont know about the pine as tonewood but i think its toooooo soft to keep screws in...Besides the only experience from it is my bed.. it's out of pine!
  8. i saw this model http://www.thomann.de/gr/fender_2011_classic_strat_pro_mn_cop.htm and was just amazed by the prize and the fact that the body is from pine(nomatter if its old)!! what is your opinion???
  9. ok,the depth varies but with the same width in a deeper tang the fret is compressed more,so a back bow is more possible to occur...
  10. @ VIP i noticed that the tang is not the same in every fretwire..check here http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Fretting_supplies/Stewart-MacDonald_Fretwire/Medium_Fretwire.html
  11. have you tried the same and experienced something abnormal or bad???
  12. I bought today a white lacquer but there is no more nitro surfacer. They told me to use a poly based surfacer below nitro lac....I am not sure they are combatible...what do you think???
  13. that is what i am thinking for next project..i did not know about the use of this tool..now i know...but i am sure that the type of the fretwire #0149 is wide so,this could cause the problem.Probably a narrower would be ok...but i have a question...can the fretwire after this tool be easy to get out of the slot,no matter if there is glue??
  14. well the first neck is from rosewood/purpleheart/rosewood and cocobolo fretboard plus 2 carbon fibers. the othe is mulberry quarterawn and 2 carbon fibers.... there is nothing stiffer than carbon fiber... i did not expect that....
  15. everything is from Stew mac and i guess they are compatible.. Frewire#0149/japanese saw /fret arbor... The slot width is determined by their saw, which is compatible with their fretwire...I dont know...I am talking abou 1 mm but no more... but why should it happen?? the olution is the dual truss rod i guess...i can correct the backbow with it...
  16. I had my fretboards 100% straight but after installing the frets in 2 necks i noticed this thing...The whole fretboard had a small arch ...(small gabs in the nut side and in the last fret compared to the straight line passing from center)...Is it my idea or a mistake,or is this normal????
  17. οk,i see...all here agree that if i change pick up.and generally hardware it can reach a very good result... it's very funny people pay 12.000$ or more to get a model from Steve Ray,and all things could cost just les than 1000.. only the name "SRV" is expensive...
  18. what about the modern "c" shaped neck??affinity series has not that...Do Stratocasters have it??
  19. My major question was what makes an expensive guitar expensive....for example the squier is in lower level than Stratocaster but what is the things which are cheap???You can tell me lower budget pickups, lower quality tuners and bridge but i must insist on 2 things... intonation and wood...if all the intonation is wrong then the instrument is not appropriate... as far as the woods concerns do they check it accoustically in Stratocaster or they just put alder(whatever piece).. i am planning to buy a Squier to make an experiment with high quality pick ups to see if the quitars gains credits but if the intonation or other structural things are bad then everything is meaningless.. could i have your opinion??
  20. thank you very much!!As far as the edges of the fret concerns....shall i remove the finishing???or leave it? ?
  21. with what do you mean can i clean it????knife for example?
  22. I apologize for my question but i wanted to know if the maple neck and fretboard is finished without the frets??If i want to make it scalloped what would be the order of tasks???i mean...after scalloping the fretboard can i finish it with the frets on(by masking them)???
  23. could i ask something more???Those bushings are supposed to get in only once,or you can get it out whenever you want??? i mean in spraying the finish the bushings are inside or they are off???
  24. i apologize for my bad english....idea is the correct word..sorry
