  1. wait i read the post you told me to read but i'm still confused... maybe i just missed what i was looking for but... for routing out a tremelo surely i'd need a straight bit , but i need one that can ride on the inside of a template, i can't find that ... thanks again , i'm suprised you put up with people like me who aren't quite there :D

  2. hey i just bought a plunge router and i was wondering what bit i should be using for routing my guitar body...

baring in mind i'm gonna be routing a floyd rose :D

have no idea what i'm doing, reading the manual now :D any help ?

(i'm not very serious, just one of my little projects... turning out to be quite fun though)

  3. i've always thought that it'd be useful to have a small slider eq on a electric guitar, something more detailed than one or two tone pots. i don't think i've seen it done but maybe theirs a brand that make eqs for graphic electric guitar already, thats esentually what i'm looking for.

i know its probably not very practical but i like guitars that have lots of controls and this is something that would interest me

maybe its possible to convert an electro acoustic eq?... i don't know much about electronics if anything.

... so if anyone knows anything about where i could find one or if i could convert an acoustic one that'd be great.

  4. I was thinking about trying to scallop a cheap neck and see if i like the outcome because i'm a big malmsteen fan and i love the vibrato sound he gets, anyway i've got some questions.

First off I'm alittle confused because I have heard people say it makes it harder to play fast and other people say it makes it easier, is it just opinion? different for different people ect. :D

secondly, i've not got much experience with files, so is it an impossible task i'm setting myself...

    any advise?

  5. i think they must be.... and yeah i know they're supposed to be a bit above the body B) but the copy necks stood out so much it made me worry :D lol i think the copy necks are thicker..... how thick are your strat necks at the heel (not including fret board)...

:D i just relised i've got sanddust all over the keyboard.....

  6. basically is the neck pocket depth on a fender standard strat really 1.6cm (warmoth website) ? because now that i've cut it that deep it seems way too shallow, none of the strat copy necks i have lying around come close (i didn't expect them to fit perfectly and i wasn't gonna use them but i thought i'd stick a few on for fun before i buy a proper neck), they're all way to thick at the heel.

i know i'm err... :D not the most experienced builder but any answers would help.

  7. i'm making a bc rich mockingbird style guitar , its got a quilt top so i thought i would stain it some pretty colours :D

the only problem is that i'm stuck between 3 different finishs, i am very indecisive... so maybe you can help me beside

    its either

sun burst , tobbaco burst or a green stain with darkened edges

...... i just can't make up my mind so what do you think :D
