i'm looking for an easy to work with and most importantly free program, that i could use to do body and headstock designs. drawing freehand isn't working out too well for me and don't even get me started on microsofts paint. so do you guys know of any good ones(not the line 6 one)?

i voted blues cause i need my stevie and my jimi and my buddy and my muddy. but i like funk and alternative and folk and a little bit of G love and the special and i'm the worlds biggest beatles fan (thats to say i enjoy there music immensely not that i'm immense). so if beatles would have been up there or 60's pop/rock(which is how there classified) i would of had to of voted for that.

Did you say you're going to spend $50 on those pieces?
i said that as an exaple before i did the math, after i did the math it came out to $34, and it might be even less cause there only 7/8ths.

It doesn't work, that's one of his steel string electrics. The builder is Matt Artinger, a very cool guy from Pennsylvania. I played one of his nylon string electric at a guitar show and it has a Highlander pickup in it in the bridge. Here is his website: Artinger guitar models. Click on Nylon String and check it out in detail.

what i mean is if i use two peices 20x14x7/8 can i just plop them on top of each other? will this affect the sound or the strength adversily? will it make it hard to work with?
only one of my local lumber stores carries two inch thick stuff and thats only in poplar or maple, and i really had my heart set on a nice peice of ash.*giggles*
which i can find in 7/8ths. your help is greatly appreciated.

i don't know if anyones touched on this but if you go on the LMI site and scroll down theres a letter and a photo from a guy who makes archtop nylon string electrics. and hes got a nice gold humbucker on there i'm not sure how it works but maybe someone else knows.

i'm wondering where i could find a jumbo acoustic guitar kit,or at least a place that will sell prebent sides for a jumbo acoustic/electric. i'm asking for future reference as i'll be in need of a new acoustic in 4 or 5 months, and i don't feel like dishing out the cash for a guild. i will have built an electric by this time so i should have enough experience to do a kit(if you were worried about that, that is).

thanks for the help guys.

i'm going to be building my first guitar pretty soon and i would like to know if i can use three 18" bar clamps as opposed to three sash clamps. to glue the body together. i'm curious because a carpenter friend of mine is offering me the use of his bar clamps.
if sash clamps are just the british term for bar clamps, feel free to point it out, mock and or ridicule me.
oh and by the I'm REALLY EXCITED TO BE HERE!

it sounds like an acoustic thinline tele, it would work, seems like a waste of wood to me. but then again the extra wood would probably cover the cost of buying sides and getting someone to bend them.
