  1. As for a preamp:

    http://freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=431

you could replace the bass and treble pots with fixed resistors if you'd rather the passive tones.

    I was referred to this:

    http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/W...w-Download-Free

But how would I integrate that preamp into the circuit? whereabouts would it go? (I'm new at this... i havent done much in the way of making my own circuits or adding things to them other than just playing with capacitor values!)

  2. I have a bit of an issue with the wiring of a guitar I've built... and cant find any diagrams that could wire it the way I want it. Guitar is a les paul style guitar with two 4-conductor humbuckers, a standard 3 way switch, two push-pulls, and an on/off switch + 9V batter

    As it stands, I'd like:

    Standard 3-way selection between pickups

    independent volume and tone controls

independent coil tapping of the pickups (ie. each push-pull corresponds to a pickup, push pulls under the tone knobs)

and something interesting with the 9V and on/off switch if anyone has any suggestions? a preamp or circuit I could make...

a wiring scheme for that would be cool, and much appreciated, but open to suggestion of something else that could provide more versatility with what I've got mentioned above, if anyone has any ideas theyre willing to share!

    Thanks!

  3. Thanks! I mean... i had to use a router to plane it (wood was almost 3/4 inch thicker than it is now when i started) and it jumped a couple times (see woodfiller)

But routed the control switch cavity today, hoping to do the bridge cavity tomorrow and a slot for a 9V battery outside of the main control area if possible as well.

Burnt the wood a little accidentally, but I hope it doesnt do too much damage in the long run... router bit wasnt quite long enough and i didnt realize early enough

  4. First build ive done... forgive the beginners mistakes, there wasnt much in the way of tools, and im strapped for cash so no fancy edge following router bits either, most of its free hand and then had to be corrected as tools became available! Pics taken from a cell phone camera but here it is:

    Specs:

Solid mahogany body, with an oak veneer top

Bolt-on neck made from some unknown material (its taken from another guitar... will build one in the future)

    22 fret Les Paul style

Dimarzio pups with independent coil split control for each via push pull

    Strat-style bridge with trem

Had to join the pieces, all mahogany, just wasnt wide enough

taking down the wood - was far too thick... it was also at this point id wished there had been some investment placed in a planer
