A word of warning. I have used that bridge and while the bridge itself is great, the screws are really cheap and will break with minimum torque. Go the the hardware store and get yourself some better ones.

I think scrapers are better for this job.

Saw a 6-piece nut files on ebay that are made by Hiroshima Files UO-Chikyu. Are these any good? About the same price as Stew Mac but the shipping is less.

I agree, now that avangers pointed it out. Maybe some kind of burst would soften the blow, so to speak?
Other than that, it looks great
Completely disagree. I think this shape would look horrible without the spalted would which gives a a very decaying and distorbing feel to the design. Reminds me of "The Scream" or some of the post WWI art.
For what its worth, I have lurked on this board for three years now and this is probably the first I have ever commented on.

How is it working with the Lacewood? Is it prone to tear out or any other issues?

Instead of guitars, why don't you try building something else like an end table with mortise and tenon joinery. Give you some new problems to work through and chance to build different skills. May be surprised when you go back to guitars that you are better at it. This would also keep you from wasting your tools.
